Our mission at Ready, Set… Train! is to strengthen the relationship between dogs and humans by creating an open line of communication. We believe in training dogs and teaching people. Dogs learn appropriate ways to act and how to ask for things they want, and people learn how to better understand and communicate with their dogs. Compassion and positive reinforcement is the foundation to accomplishing understanding between you and your canine companion. Training is a partnership. Both the human and animal side of the relationship are important.

Introduce your dog to the exciting world of agility training! Build a stronger bond with your dog by working as a team to complete an AKC Agility course. Your dog will be challenged both mentally and physically fulfilling many dogs need for exercise and work. This class covers foundational agility skills and obstacles while helping to burn energy and strengthen your bond with your pup. We will teach you how to maneuver and cue your dog through an agility course. The goal is to build your dogs confidence on each obstacle so they enjoy the sport! Each week we go over rules and teach new behaviors until your dog knows all the requirements for AKC agility. To participate in this class your dog must have completed our Beginner Good Manners Class or have a been approved by one of our trainers. AKC Rally develops better teamwork between you and your dog, as well as sharpens your dog’s obedience skills and behavior – at home and in public. This class is for Int/Adv class level. You and your dog navigate a course together, side-by-side, at your own brisk pace. You move your dog through a course with signs where they perform different exercises. The courses include various turns and commands such as sit, down, stay, etc. You are allowed unlimited communication with your dog. The handler may use communication such as verbal commands, clapping your hands, patting your legs and using hand signals to praise and encourage your dog. Max is the only trainer I trust in the Toledo area with my own clients. I have referred clients to him for the last couple of years knowing that they are in capable hands. He specializes in working with aggressive dogs, resource guarding and dog to dog integration (among other things). Many clients benefit from a trainer who makes house calls to work with the problem behavior where it happens. I know Max will only use positive, science based training methods that will not harm or hurt your dog. We are excited to continue our collaboration with Ready Set Train and expand the positive training community in our area! Also, I personally enjoy taking classes from Max and my dog Shilo is IN LOVE with him!

We have worked with Max on individualized training for our Bernedoodle puppy. He was exhibiting resource guarding behaviors and it was critical to develop a humane and effective way to address the issues in the short and long term. Max worked with us and our dog in our home and we were continuously impressed by his knowledge, skill, warmth, and professionalism. He is a gifted expert in relating to dogs and training them. He also excels at establishing rapport with people and explaining and demonstrating his training methods. For us, the investment in working with Max and Ready, Set, Train has had great value. Our dog is doing much better, and we now have the knowledge, confidence, and ability to manage the issue when it occasionally arises.
Max is the best!! Great communication and great patience with me and my dog Stella!!!!!
