Radical Rover Dog Training

Cynthia worked intensively, one-on-one, with our wonderful, willful, opinionated, and exceptionally alert Chicago ACC/Hinsdale HS rescue for the past month. Initially untrained when we got her last summer, we had taught her a couple of basics (sit, down, and a laughably inconsistent stay), but we were looking for someone who could help us provide her with a foundation for success -- not someone who would just help her learn a few tricks, but who could help her learn to learn, and help us to teach. My wife and I are both very happy with the results. We were incredibly impressed by Cynthia's knowledge and ability to communicate that knowledge to both us and our dog. After the past month, she is calmer on walks and more attentive to us (and not just the squirrels). One of the things we particularly appreciated was the exceptional level of structure and professionalism. Cynthia provided us with both prospective and retrospective weekly training plans, which were tailored to our needs and requests. Cynthia gave us detailed feedback on videos of our dog "in the wild." So not only did Cynthia help our dog over the past four weeks, but we have a treasure trove of non-generic, dog-specific analysis and recommendations, including cues, methods, games, and additional resources for our permanent reference and use. We would highly recommend Cynthia and Radical Rover to anyone on the South Side, in Chicagoland, or beyond.

My puppy deL and I first did 6 sessions of puppy training at Petsmart, which was good for socializing with other dogs but the training itself was not so much 'training'. I was lucky to be referred to Cynthia @Radical Rover and booked right away. We did 6 one-hour trainings, in the first one alone my pup and I learned more than 6 classes at Petsmart. Cynthia is kind, patient, attentive, thoughtful, and effective. I can not recommend her enough! She should wear a cape because she is truly a magician with training humans and dogs to be better.

A friend of ours recommended Cynthia to us when our year 2 year old dog Pip became difficult on walks. We met online and really couldn’t be happier with the results! Instead of focusing on the bad things our dog was doing, we learned how to 'ask' the dog to buy into what we wanted him to do! I was also impressed with how helping our dog be calm inside transferred to outside.Our walks are great now. We’re continuing the training at home and learning new things about our dog all the time. We've had follow up questions and Cynthia has always been available and friendly with answers! So glad we used her services!
