I cannot recommend Rob enough! Before training, Oatmilk was extremely mouthy, overly energetic, and difficult to manage. She would jump on everyone she met, nip and bite when she got excited, pull constantly on the leash, and had very little self-control around children/other dogs. After working with Rob, the transformation has been incredible. Not only did he teach my dog how to walk calmly on a leash (my 64 year old mother can now walk her like a breeze), but he also helped eliminate the jumping and biting behaviors that had become such a challenge. One of the biggest improvements was her behavior around children/other dogs. She now remains calm, listens to commands, and interacts much more appropriately instead of becoming overly excited and overwhelming. Prior to training, we were unable to bring her around my niece and nephew, but now they’re best friends and can play in the same area without fear of biting/injury. Rob was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain how to reinforce the training at home. He also offers to meet at other locations that are problem areas for your pup, or areas that would help facilitate training. The methods were easy to follow and produced lasting results. Oatmilk is still happy and playful, but she is now much more well-mannered, attentive, and enjoyable to be around. If you're struggling with an energetic dog that jumps, bites, pulls on the leash, or has trouble behaving around children, I highly recommend Rob to help. The difference he has made in Oatey’s behavior has been life-changing for both of us!

Rob saved us! We were really struggling having Piper in our home with our older dog Benny. After the board and train program, the dynamic in our household has completely changed. I cannot thank Rob enough. Piper was not an easy girl to work with, but Rob's patience and consistency with her is so evident. Thank you!!

Rob with Purposeful Canines was wonderful. From the first conversation never felt rushed or brushed off. The first phone call describing what we were going through with our newly adopted rescue was stressful enough. But he was very calm and willing to help. Came and met Moose the next week. Training started shortly after that. Even the "meeting " he showed me some tricks to not be dragged down the block by this 80 pound beast. Lessons went great..Moose responded well.. we practiced between ( and still continue to work on things). Rob was available via text or call should anything come up. Worth the money.. so worth the time.. Highly recommend!!!

Our dog recently completed a board and train program with Rob, and the difference has been incredible. From the very first call through post-program follow-up, he’s been straightforward, supportive, and most importantly—he delivers real results. Our Lab has finally found his “off” switch (we honestly didn’t think that existed), and he’s now just as happy relaxing at home as he is running around off-leash. We’re heading into summer feeling confident and excited for more adventures with him. If you’re looking for someone who knows what they’re doing and doesn’t overcomplicate things, Rob is it.

We had an incredible experience working with Rob to train our 65-pound, 15-month-old Goldendoodle, Penny. She’s a very high-energy, excitable dog, and before training, walks were a challenge—she pulled constantly—and having visitors over felt chaotic. With a baby on the way, we knew we needed to get her behavior under control, especially in the house and on the leash. After just four sessions with Rob, the transformation has been unbelievable. Penny is truly a different dog. We can now walk her on a loose leash with no issues, and we’ve even had neighbors compliment how well-behaved she is. When guests come over, we now have a clear, structured approach that actually works—and it’s made a huge difference in how confident we feel bringing a newborn into the home. What really stood out about Rob was not just how great he was with Penny, but how much he focused on training us as owners. He took the time to sit down, understand exactly what challenges we were facing, and built a targeted, practical game plan tailored specifically to our dog. He gave us clear, honest, and actionable instructions to follow between sessions—and because we committed to the process, the results speak for themselves. On top of that, Rob is just an all-around great person. He’s kind, relatable, easy to talk to, and incredibly flexible with scheduling. He came to our home, made us feel completely comfortable, and often went beyond the scheduled session time because he genuinely cared about getting results. Everything he recommended worked. He doesn’t offer generic advice—his training is thoughtful, strategic, and customized. Penny loved him, and it was obvious he really knows what he’s doing. This was easily some of the best money we’ve spent, and we plan to continue working with him as we build on Penny’s training. We can’t recommend Rob highly enough to anyone looking for real, lasting results.
