I can’t say enough good things about my experience working with Susan. What really stood out was her ability to read my dog’s behavior and tailor the training approach in a way that felt both effective and compassionate. She taught me how to better understand and communicate with my dog, which has made all the difference. Her guidance around socialization with other dogs was especially helpful for me. I really learned so much that will also help me with really any dog. Every session felt intentional, supportive, and encouraging for both me and my dog. I HIGHLY recommend Susan and Purely Positive Dog Training. She is truly a miracle worker! We recently adopted a 5 year old Frenchton rescue, who sadly was used for breeding and never learned “dog” behaviors. Our biggest issue was Ruby walking on a leash. Susan came out to our home, spent time with her and us in our surroundings, and recommended a long lead (which we’d never heard of). With Susan, and on the long lead with specific treats, Ruby did great! She walks so well now, I don’t even need the treats anymore! She is so very knowledgeable in all things dogs, and gave us so many tips. She picked up on Ruby’s temperament immediately, and even suggested that she’d make a great therapy dog (which we are working on!). Getting in contact and scheduling was easy, communication was excellent, and receiving training notes after the visit was invaluable.
