I had a overall great experience with Alejandro! My dog Benji is very reactive and tugged on the leash a lot, overall a handful. Throughout my session I felt at ease with Alejandro’s training. He did not rush anything and was extremely patient. I loved how he explained everything with detail. He didn’t just help my dog but helped ME understand what I had been doing wrong and the actions to correct such mistakes. After my 3 hour session I was able to walk Benji peacefully and that is something I was never able to do!! I am looking forward to applying the techniques I learned from Alejandro.

Had a great experience working with Alejandro! We had a 3 hour session with him, where he came home and worked with the whole family and our pup to understand how he can help us. He pointed out some of the mistakes we were making and offered suggestions on improving them. Our main concern was walking our dog. He spent time with me and my husband showing us how best to walk our dog and what we can change. It was not necessarily just how to train your dog, but also helping us understand our dog and how we needed to change our behavior as well. Several things he said were an eye opener for us. He followed up to understand how were doing the next day which was very thoughtful. Overall, Alejandro is a dog/ people whisperer!!! Loved working with him.

I had never used a dog trainer before but since my pup was a rescue and appeared to have been exposed to some level of neglect when he was younger, we had some behavioral issues that I couldn't solve. I explored different options but found that most of them were quite expensive and involved the trainers taking my dog away for a period of time to conduct the training. I had two concerns with that method: 1. If the dog learned how to behave with the trainers offsite, how would that translate to my relationship with the dog? 2. Given that they had to take the dog away, I would have to pay for board, food and 24 hour supervision, and moreover I felt like my dog would be miserable....when all I really wanted was for him to get the training. I met a couple of dog owners in my neighborhood and asked about the first point - and they both said that the key part of the training was more about how the trainers trained THEM i.e. the training of what the Dog Owner was supposed to do in order to change the dog behavior. When I got referred to Pupsties, I realized that this was a trainer that was focusing on Training the trainer (me), and considering the good reviews I'd heard and the significantly lower cost, I decided to give them a try. Alejandro showed up to my house and worked with us for over three hours, showing me how to change the dynamics of the relationship (eg. "Ownership" of the entry door; leading the walk outside instead of my dog leading; controlling nipping behavior, etc.). I never felt he was just looking at his clock but more was genuinely trying to help us. Once we started practicing what he taught us, we noticed a marked change in the dog behavior aside from occasional pulling during the second day afterwards. He had warned us that sometimes the dog would try to resist so I took him up on his offer to feel free to call him and he readily responded and told me what to do, reassuring me that this was normal during the change of behavior. For the past several days, I've been having such successful and relaxing walks with my dog. I notice other owners having their dogs pull at their leashes and wish I had call cards to give to them. I would highly recommend Pupsties to any dog owners.
