Puppy Steps Training

I’ve had my 18 week old puppy for a week since coming home from Puppy Steps - we haven’t had a single accident, he rings the bell when he needs to go out, and he knows his basic commands. NYC has a lot of distractions compared to Utah, so we are still working on recall while distracted by 50 pigeons, 12 new potential doggy friends, and 30 humans who want to pet him! That said, he wants to be BFFs with them all and that’s thanks to the exposure of puppy friends at Puppy Steps. Having a friend get a dog the same age as mine but without training, I can say with confidence that the investment in Puppy Steps was absolutely worth it. The daily updates from the trainers were informative and entertaining…the photo and video updates helped me feel like I was getting to learn more about Reggie’s mischievous character. Brad and team also helped with pick up from the Breeder and recommending a great flight nanny service to get Reggie from Utah to NYC. Also, for what it’s worth, I have even been able to vacuum just feet away from Reggie multiple times since he got home. He shies away if it gets too close, but doesn’t bark or over react. Willie went to Puppy Steps for his basic training and service dog training. His training was extremely important since he is also the first MLB emotional support dog and spending his days at the field around players and staff and traveling on planes a lot. I can not say enough positive about Puppy Steps and the work they do. They addressed every behavior and concern I brought up and more, and it was nice to see daily journals of his day/progress as well as pictures and videos. The training isn’t limited to just a training room, they took him out into the community and in environments that would challenge with noise, crowds, etc. He got a lot of 1:1 training as well as group socialization training with other dogs which is so important and something I couldn’t do on my own. Brad and his trainers are so diligent, patient and knowledgeable I would 100% recommend them to everyone. Willie is thriving as a professional baseball dog and I always get compliments in the airport and on flights about how well behaved he is!
