If my dog is in a Board and Train Program, won’t he only listen to you?
Once your dog has completed their Board and Train Program, your trainer will give you and your family a 3-4 hour class, teaching you how to use your dog’s training and how to implement your dog’s training into your daily life, as well as teach you how to continue working with your dog. You are welcome to record any and all training sessions with your trainer, in order to be able to refer back to instructions when needed.

What will my dog learn in the private lesson course?
During our Private Lesson course we teach one command per week, building each week off the previous week. Typical commands are sit, down, stay, come on command, and heeling on a leash.

Do I have to attend the classes during the Board and Train Programs?
No! Many of our families do not attend these classes. However, these classes help your trainer to identify anything that may be a struggle at home for your dog and your family, as well as help you and your family understand the information you have received during the training period. As an alternative, your trainer can schedule a video call with you!

What will my dog learn in a board and train program?
During our Board and Train programs, your dog will learn; sit, down, stay, go-to place, leave it command, come on command, door manners, food manners, crate training, and heeling on a leash. Your dog will learn how to greet people and be around other dogs while maintaining obedience and manners, and keeping focus on you. Your dog will have a socialization period, working on manners and obedience in multiple environments, levels of distractions and excitement.

During our Private Lesson course, your trainer will teach your dog the command, then teach you how to solidify that command at home.. Your Proven Trainer will assign “homework” for completing training sessions at home, and provide you with examples of how to implement each of these commands into your daily routine. Practice makes perfect, so the more you and your dog practice, the better you both will be!

We require your dog to be up to date on all vaccinations, a regular flat collar that fits properly, and a leash. You are welcome to bring your dog’s favorite treats, but we have treats available as well!

Super grateful for everyone at proven k9!! We did a 4 week board and train with our very anxious and unsocialized German Shepard. Since having our boy Jax back home, he is MUCH more coachable and relaxed making the continued training by us super enjoyable because he picks things up so quick now and the small corrections are getting fewer and fewer everyday.
BUT where they went above and beyond was today , a month after the training had ended, they met me at the vet to help Jax’ get his vaccines. We used to have to heavily medicate him, and almost shut down the vet to make a day like today happen, because of Proven k9 we were able to get Jax in with no drugs and get the shots he needed within 10-15 minutes. Super Grateful for everyone at Proven K9!!

Wow! Where do I even begin, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Proven K9, specifically Sammie! We sent our 8 month year old chihuahua, Daisy, for the 4 week training program. Within days we already saw huge differences! Sammie the first week of training was devoted to creating a relationship with our dog and establishing trust between her and Daisy. This approach helped build a strong bond between Daisy and Sammie. This bond was key to Daisy success. Throughout the four weeks of training Sammie showed great patience with Daisy that helped flourished Daisy’s confidence. Sammie also taught our dog how to sit, lay down, implied stay, door manners, and leave it all in four weeks!! This shows Sammies dedication to provide the best training to dogs! Not only did Sammie build a relationship with Daisy, but she also kept my family up to date through the entire process. Sammie would let us know what she is working on with our dog, photos, and the next steps in Daisy’s training. Her fabulous communication eased my families nerves about sending Daisy to training. We never once question if Daisy was happy, loved, and taken care of. Sammie also taught my family how to work with Daisy and how we can strengthen her training at home. From the first day of training to now transitioning our dog home Sammie has provided excellent training! I highly recommend Sammie at Proven K9. She is more than amazing!!

Above and beyond service. Our pup would choke herself out anytime out in the leash, ZERO Recal. She only kinda knew sit. They do field trips to stores/ restaurants once she learned her manners. Which took about 2 weeks with our pup and we opted for a 4week andZERO regrets. Now she knows… down,off,place, implied stay, has way better social manners, and leash walking is amazing.
