FirstBarkTheodore is a very young puppy and was there for two weeks. Loved JJ and their facility. He sent us away with fallow up homework and to do list so I wouldn’t forget what we had learned. You can definitely tell Theo learned a lot and is very receptive.

If my dog is in a Board and Train Program, won’t he only listen to you?
Once your dog has completed their Board and Train Program, your trainer will give you and your family a 3-4 hour class, teaching you how to use your dog’s training and how to implement your dog’s training into your daily life, as well as teach you how to continue working with your dog. You are welcome to record any and all training sessions with your trainer, in order to be able to refer back to instructions when needed.

During our Private Lesson course we teach one command per week, building each week off the previous week. Typical commands are sit, down, stay, come on command, and heeling on a leash.

Do I have to attend the classes during the Board and Train Programs?
No! Many of our families do not attend these classes. However, these classes help your trainer to identify anything that may be a struggle at home for your dog and your family, as well as help you and your family understand the information you have received during the training period. As an alternative, your trainer can schedule a video call with you!

I will miss my dog! Will my dog forget me?
Your trainer will include pictures of your dog in training in your update emails, and we will post more pictures and videos on our social media pages! Your dog will not forget you! As a matter of fact, we will utilize you to teach your dog that regardless of the level of excitement or distractions, they must maintain their manners and obedience!

What will my dog learn in a board and train program?
During our Board and Train programs, your dog will learn; sit, down, stay, go-to place, leave it command, come on command, door manners, food manners, crate training, and heeling on a leash. Your dog will learn how to greet people and be around other dogs while maintaining obedience and manners, and keeping focus on you. Your dog will have a socialization period, working on manners and obedience in multiple environments, levels of distractions and excitement.

How does the Private Lesson course work?
During our Private Lesson course, your trainer will teach your dog the command, then teach you how to solidify that command at home.. Your Proven Trainer will assign “homework” for completing training sessions at home, and provide you with examples of how to implement each of these commands into your daily routine. Practice makes perfect, so the more you and your dog practice, the better you both will be!

What do I need to bring for a Private Lesson?
We require your dog to be up to date on all vaccinations, a regular flat collar that fits properly, and a leash. You are welcome to bring your dog’s favorite treats, but we have treats available as well!

Charm is a long haired yorkie and Sammie went above and beyond keeping her groomed and clean. Charm formed a bond very quickly with Sammie and that helped me feel that I had made the right choice. The owners and trainers are AWESOME!!!!! Besides being very knowledgeable and experienced in dog training they are friendly, compassionate, and kind. These are people who feel like family. They run a very efficient business and treat your dog like their own. They trained our Golden Retriever to be a service dog for my visually impaired husband. She has been everywhere from the grocery store to doctors offices to school events and behaves beautifully. She even is welcome at the hair salon. We are so proud of her training. When people ask about her we say Proven K-9 did it and Lily is a proven service dog and friend. We can’t say enough good things about this excellent team
