I had become disabled and needed a wheelchair. My beloved 6yo staffy had developed SARDS, and become vision impaired. I could no longer access our home of 30 years, and we had to downsize to an apartment in the city. Astrid was accustomed to her wooded, fenced backyard and doggy door. She had no skills for urban living, was reactive to other dogs, and had no idea how to walk nicely alongside a wheelchair. Astrid has been to two vets since we started this process (she needed a vet optometrist! ), and both enthusiastically encouraged this training process. In 3 weeks, she went from wild child to well behaved at home and outside, easy to control, and friendly with other dogs on our walks. Javier and his staff are knowledgeable, experienced, and loving. They modified their training approach and equipment to accommodate my disability and her vision impairment. I got to see her training videos every day. The follow-up sessions in our home and at the training center are extraordinary. She is so happy when we go back to the training center. I lost so very much this past year, but have been able to keep dear Astrid because of the excellent training we both got through Proactive. I could not be more grateful.

My 6 month old puppy just graduated from Proactive's good manners program, a 2 week board & train. He learned so much while there and it looks like we will have good support as we work on continuing his training at home. He learned leash walking skills, place & stay, recall and to release an item on command. Our "no" is much more effective now and useful for stopping a variety of bad behaviors. I would highly recommend Proactive dog training!

There will never be enough words to express how grateful I am for the experience we had with Javier, Briana, and the entire team. From day one, it was clear that Javier was born to do this 🐺 his passion, patience, and dedication are unmatched. My two Belgian Malinois, Zeus and Afrika, were becoming extremely difficult to handle. We were overwhelmed and didn’t know how to move forward as a family. But everything changed when we met this amazing team. The transformation in our dogs is simply incredible. We now enjoy peace at home, safety during walks, and most importantly, the joy of living with well-behaved, balanced dogs. Zeus adores Javier and it’s obvious why. Every single person on his team gave their heart to this process. They truly care. They saw the potential in my dogs when I was losing hope, and they brought out the best in them. I have had a great experience with Proactive Dog Training private training sessions with Javier. I have a 1 year old Belgian Malinois / Pitbull mix who is very high energy, struggles with reactivity, and is easily overstimulated. Before I started training with Javier, Indy could not walk on a leash without pulling the whole time, she would just bark incessantly in public areas, not listen to me, and constantly try to run up to people and dogs. In only 4 sessions with Javier (and lots of homework on my end) we were able to greatly improve her obedience, teach her how to walk right by my side on leash, and get her in a calmer state of mind to handle being in busy areas with a lot going on. She still has a lot to learn but through this training I now feel much more confident to address what once seemed daunting and nearly impossible. I look forward to continuing her training and working with Javier and his team again!
