I recently got my 3rd German Shepherd from Andres at Pro Canine Center. The training is top notch and everyone that works there is helpful and knowledgeable. Over the years I have mostly worked directly with Andres but I had the pleasure of working with Julianne with my newest dog and she was great! If you are looking for a good, reliable trainer this is the only place to go. They have given me the most loving and loyal dogs I've ever had!

After years of having issues with public transportation, my family decided to get a service animal for safety concerns. As a college student embarking on this journey, it’s hard to find individuals to work with where you are at. Andre was the only one who did that. Andre said he wouldn’t start training our dog, Masha, until she had time to bond. After that, she went in three days a week for months. After her basic obedience, we started working one-on-one with Andre. Just to put things into perspective, I have had a whirlwind of emotions. Many periods of doubt and discomfort. Periods of familial adjustment. It’s not easy. However, I agreed to put in the effort so I was going to follow through. From an early age, we knew Masha took a longer time to digest. However, Andre has never left us alone. He has been there every step of the way. He always answers the phone and assists with any problems we have. He is always on point with scheduling concerns. Now with that being said, if you are considering a service dog… you have to be willing to commit to putting in the work outside of the facility. You have to be willing to see the bad and the good because your dog isn’t a robot. If you’re not willing to train your dog by yourself outside the facility, don’t get a service dog. If you’re not willing to listen, don’t get a service dog. If you ARE willing to go through the motion, GET ONE!

I went to Pro Canine for a soy detection dog. Andres told me that he’d already trained a soy detection dog for a friend that performed beautifully. He described the soy reaction his friend had and how helpful the dog was. He talked about how soy was in everything and the dog could react to soy flour, soy oil, and soy sauce. I gave him $25,000 to train a dog. I should have steered away when he offered to work together to cheat on paying taxes. I refused and he made it out like then he 'realized' that was illegal. Close to the end of her 'training', he said my dog did not have the requisite drive, but he still required payment for the training he'd once said was guaranteed. I paid him to finish her as a different type of service dog and gave her to a veteran in need. Andre told me he had a dog, Wamo, who was definitely a soy-detection candidate and already trained as a mobility dog, which could help me on my bad balance days. The cost was $50,000. I understood that I was paying for top of the line breeding, training and a time crunch – It was July 2019. They said they could have him done in November. Andre said they would train him in soy detection until Wamo was scenting and alerting for soy in food at restaurants and then they’d start the bonding process with me, going with me to restaurants as his handler to detect soy flour, soy oil, and soy sauce with a 90% accuracy rate. At the point of purchase, Wamo was supposed to have been already a fully trained mobility service dog, to help me stand and pull me. At receipt, Wamo would stand so far back from me in his heel that I could not hold his harness and had no pulling training. When I brought him in to Pro Canine, expecting to go to a restaurant and see Wamo’s soy detection, they brought me to a field and put soy oil on a ball to throw – the very beginning of soy training. When he was home, Wamo destroyed two crates, regularly pooped in the house at night, howled constantly until I’d properly crate trained him to not be scared within it, and would whine at a high pitch whenever he did not like something (when told to lay down and I walked away, for example). Then he nipped a child walking down the street next to me. By November I’d had Wamo for 3 months and he was still unable to soy detect at all for me. He was showing no sign of indicating the soy sauce scent at all. He only had that one month of soy training, three months before in July, and about four 20 minute sessions of soy training since. His pulling was uncontrolled, pulling me in whatever direction he wanted, including into the street. When I complained, Andre said that Wamo could not be expected to find soy in anything preprepared, canned, processed, or left to sit for 20 minutes, even if it was fried in soy oil or coated in soy sauce. Andre said anything more was impossible, given the nature of soy. I questioned him about the friend’s dog that he said he had trained. He did not answer the question. He agreed to free training to make up for the unfulfilled contract, then reneged on that when I tried to collect. I filed a complaint with the BBB. He agreed to a $20,000 refund. I was not surprised when after a year and a half of excuses, delays, and attempts to change the agreement, he has reneged on that refund entirely. Tl;dr: Andre scammed me out of $75,000, gave me a 'service dog' that constantly pooped in the house, whined and howled, destroyed two crates, NIPPED A CHILD, BIT MY MOM, and was never trained for any of the skills promised.

We came to Pro Canine after failed attempts of training at Petco. Our dog who we got during COVID last summer was a very anxious and naturally insecure dog and this got worse as he got older. Looking for good training guidance we found ProCanine through a former client of theirs after interviewing with several other trainers. We decided to do the board and train with our dog Rocky and after only one week we already started to see a change in him for the better. Our trainer Andrea has done wonders for Rocky, from lifting his confidence as well as strengthening the relationship we have with him. Rocky went from being nervous around people and dogs to now walking confidently with us. Rocky is so behaved and we love him to death... thank you Andrea for helping him become the best dog he can be.

After having increasingly worse chronic pain for at least 10 years as well as social anxiety from PTSD, I decided that I'd be more independent with a service dog. After calling around for weeks, I finally found Pro Canine Center and they had a dog already available which was trained for PTSD and mobility assistance. The next day I met Elsa, her trainer Julianne and the owner Andres. From the second I arrived they were all extremely informative, helpful and very welcoming. They'd made it clear just how much miss Elsa meant to them and that if I was serious, I'd have to come to work with her regularly to earn her trust. Back then I didn't know what a huge difference she'd make in my life. She would be my strength when I couldn't walk, she would watch my back in crowds, she would comfort me when I was anxious. She would give me a sense of safety that I haven't had in years. Not only is she the best thing that's happened to me, but I know that if I have questions or need help with something, I can call her trainer. Both Julianne, Andres and everyone at Pro Canine has been incredibly helpful and professional. Whether you need a dog for protection, a service dog, or just general training, they can do it. I have them to thank for my independence and the best companion I could have ever asked for.
