Presidential K9 Dog Training & Daycare

I don't usually take the time to leave reviews, but presidential K9 deserves it. I have been bringing my very needy and hyper pit mix Dozer here for the past 4 months. The staff is amazing and truly cares about the dogs. Dozer is always nervous and skittish in the beginning upon arrival and they always take time and have patience in bringing him in. You can truly tell they love what they do.. Now Dozer goes crazy when I say "You want to go school "🤗 When many discriminated against my gental giant, presidential K9 said bring him in and let's give it a try... If your looking around for good honest people to watch your fur baby, this is the place for.

My experience with K9 Presidential has been a 10 out of 10. I left my pup Otis with them for 3 weeks. He is a 3 year old bottle fed fear reactive Shepard mix. With people he knows he’s the sweet, loyal and playful. With strangers and strange dogs he does not feel the same. The last two years with my pup have been stressful and isolating and after three weeks with K9P, I was able to go on a stress free 2 hour walk with minimal reactions. He still needs some work as a dog like him will never be corrected with just a one board and train, but I can’t wait to extend my one on one training with the K9P family. I am also excited that I have a safe place to bring him in times that I need someone to watch him. One of the best parts about working with this company aside from the fantastic communication and informative report cards, was that they adapted their training practice to fit the needs of my dog. I have seen and worked with so many trainers and for the first time in 3 years I actually saw results not only on the day of pick up, but in the week I’ve had him at home. The attention to detail and care for animals is unmatched and I feel so grateful to be a part of the K9 Presidential family.

I went to Presidential K9 yesterday for an evaluation for my puppy. He already goes to another place called Puppy Island in Glendale (which I would recommend highly) and we’ve been going there for a couple of months now and he loves it. They even send tons of photos and updates of your dog, and throw birthday parties for them. The only reason we came here was because someone at a dog park recommended it and it’s a little closer to my house, so I thought we’d give it a try. Just as a disclaimer this was simply my experience here, I’m sure others that have given 5 stars have had a better experience obviously. I’m not looking for the owner or management to give a response to my review because it’s not going to change the personal experience that I had. I got bad vibes from the people who worked there, they didn’t seem friendly. First, when I pulled up there was a man dressed in a thong bikini walking by. The sidewalks were so dirty with broken glass, and cars driving by with smoke coming out of the exhaust so you could barely breathe. I felt very uncomfortable in the neighborhood. As I walked in with my dog, all you hear are very loud barking dogs. It was so loud in fact that the girl in the office and I couldn’t even have a conversation. She was trying to ask me if I gave them the vet records yet, and I was saying that yes I had already sent them. I then told her that I didn’t want my dog anywhere near those barking dogs because they sounded very aggressive, and I didn’t want him to get hurt because he’s just a puppy still. She said, “Oh don’t worry, he won’t be with those dogs, they just don’t like new people.” WTH! I felt scared to leave my dog there, I actually wanted to take him and leave, that’s what my instincts were telling me to do but I left him anyway. My first mistake. I already knew he wasn’t going to pass the evaluation because I didn’t vibe with the girl, I knew she didn’t want us there from the beginning. He is a beautiful 11 month old black Labradoodle and he’s not fixed yet. Our vet said to wait until he’s 12 months so he will be fixed soon. I reluctantly left him there and went to get some breakfast. After one hour I went to pick him up and the girl told me my dog was trying to hump the other dogs to show his dominance (isn’t that what they do?) so they can’t see him again until after he gets fixed. I explained to her that he did fine at Puppy Island and passed the evaluation there so not sure what the problem is. My friend has a 9 year old hound who’s been fixed since she adopted him years ago and he still humps and shows his dominance, so how is this an unusual behavior. My puppy “failed” the evaluation. I’m sorry Presidential K9, but you also failed my evaluation so not to worry we weren’t coming back even if he has “passed.” They obviously have incredibly aggressive dogs barking in the back that I’m sure are a lot more of a liability than a labradoodle who’s trying to play and hump. My dog is absolutely not vicious at all he just wants to play, but I can tell you they do have some very vicious sounding dogs there. The funny thing is that they also say on the website that they offer training, but the girl never mentioned it or offered me this service as an option. She told me to “find some treats he really likes” and to train him myself (as if I haven’t been doing that). We live in a world with YouTube do you think I haven’t been watching free training video for the past year to learn how to train my puppy? She talked to me like I was a dumb and inexperienced dog owner. This is not my first dog. Also, when I came back to pick him up they were grooming a dog inside of the office area and there was literally dog hair flying EVERYWHERE because they were blow drying, and it was so disgusting. The girl looked at me and said to step outside so we could chat about my dogs evaluation. Why would they have the grooming station in the main office where you walk in/out? This is just my opinion, no need for a reply. Thanks.
