Presentable K-9

I can't say enough good things about Andrea at Presentable K-9. We were so excited to add a puppy to our family this summer but after a few weeks realized that we needed professional help for problematic puppy behavior that we just weren't sure what to do about. I looked into other options but most places would not work with dogs younger than 6 months or the classes were short and the burden on us to work with the dog (yes I know, she's our dog and we need to work with her) however, with two working parents and three young kids and our first puppy, we needed to call in an EXPERT and Andrea is indeed an expert. We did a short board and train program and it is an incredibly invaluable investment in our new family member's wellbeing. Our very smart puppy took to the training so well. But the best part was the training session Andrea did with the whole family to ensure that we could follow through with what she learned. We happily have our puppy back home and know how to confidently communicate with her to address any problematic puppy behavior quickly and it's so reassuring to know we have Andrea to ask questions of if we need a refresher. It's also great to have Andrea as an option to board our sweet girl when we go out of town! 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

We are so fortunate to have found Andrea! My husband and I were running out of steam with our sweet but naughty 9 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback; Tim was having a hard time with obedience and separation anxiety. We were able to find a little relief with puppy classes and trainers here and there, but nothing compares to our experience with Andrea. Her level of detail is unmatched. Tim lived with Andrea and family for 3 weeks and came back as a different dog. We now love taking him on long walks and having time off leash, never having to worry about recall. We’ve been keeping up with the lessons now back at home, and he’s barely shown any regression. Best of all we’re able to leave our house without him howling while we’re away. He’s truly mastering the art of doing nothing, which is all we wanted for our anxious Ridgey. Thank you so much, Presentable K-9!

Andrea did an amazing job training our husky mix, Sadie! What a positive difference we see! Sadie was treated like family during her stay, which of course made us feel better about leaving her. We got daily pictures and updates, loved that! Sadie’s transition back home after training has been great! We have absolutely no regrets taking our dog to Presentable K-9 and we highly recommend, it’s so worth it!

Our 1.5 year old blue heeler, Banjo, stayed with Andrea for a three week board and train while my husband and I went aboard for a wedding this past spring. We had never left him with anyone before and I was very anxious about it, but I knew I wanted him to do a board and train rather than sending him to a kennel or a facility that would have him in doggie daycare all day. I am so glad I found Andrea and entrusted her with Banjo. It's been two months since she worked with him and things have been going so well! He is so pleasant to walk on a leash and I can easily do so while pushing my son's stroller. He's got a solid recall and can be sent to his pace and expected to stay there. We only have to tell him once to drop something and he lets us take it from him. After three weeks with Andrea, we are able to play fetch at the park and go hiking off leash which is something we had always hoped would happen. He even ran a 5k with me on a hands free leash. We recently took him out of town on a trip to Ann Arbor for the weekend and he was so well behaved on patios and at parks. We are so happy with the work she did and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Presentable K-9 was a perfect match for my family and our dog's needs! Trainer, Andrea, is incredibly effective at creating a positive, structured environment in which dogs can thrive and learn. Because our dog, Augie, is only 9 months, Andrea helped him to master basic etiquette and control. Before we enrolled Augie in "dog college" we could barely get him in his harness. Upon graduation, he walks like a calm, confident dog. He knows place (even with lots of distraction) and down and is great with recall. I also appreciate the Andrea sent daily text updates with photos. I would definitely send future dogs to Presentable K-9! Thank you, Andrea!
