Is there an age limit for dog to be eligible for training?
Power Paws starts its training for assistance dogs as pups and will continue supporting any training needs of the client for the life of the canine. We train only Power Paws dogs. Most assistance dogs move toward retirement at age 8 or 9.

How early can you start a puppy for therapy training?
Pups can start training at any time. However, Power Paws does not train therapy dogs only assistance dogs/service dogs that perform task for people with disabilities in accordance with the American With Disabilities Act.

I am just now starting the process of acquiring an assistance dog for mobility. I suffer from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome - Hypermobility and my mobility challenges are increasing. The way I have been looked after by the Power Paws team, during the first steps in the process, is wonderful. I feel very confident they will match me with the right dog.
The current leadership is destroying what was not so long ago an amazing organization. I can only hope that the board of directors gets their collective act together and gets rid of those that are destroying it.
Great program! My kids love the summer camps.
