Positive K-9

Positive K9 changed our lives....literally! Our boy Enzo, a 9 month old German Shepherd, ran our household. BUT WE LOVED HIM! He didn't listen to us at all. He would bark at anything and everything, very reactive, and there was no stopping him! He kept us up all night half the time. Coming home with our 3 year old after a long day of work was a nightmare....chasing Enzo around to get him outside and keep him from eating things or knocking us over. Words can't explain. We weren't ever going to give up on him though, that was never ever an option. Luckily, we got Enzo from a wonderful breeder and he has such a great temperament and is just a big baby. We tried other training (clicker/pure positive) with another trainer. Great place, great people, but it wasn't for Enzo. His behavior got worse. When I started researching other training methods I found Positive K9. I read the reviews and emailed them for some additional information about the Residency Program. We decided to set up an appointment to meet Melissa. Within the first 30 minutes she had Enzo standing at an open door next to her while other dogs and people were walking by.....and he wasn't losing his mind!! It was unbelievable. Melissa saw the same gentle big baby that we saw and assured us their program would work. Enzo left us for 2.5 weeks to work with Josh. JOSH IS AMAZING! I don't know what kind of magic he worked with Enzo during those 2 1/2 weeks, but he came back a different dog. Josh taught us everything we needed to know to continue his training at home during our discharge appointment. Enzo was the same fun loving puppy but he was BEHAVED! I can't thank Josh and positive K9 enough for giving us the awesome family member that we always wanted. I tell anyone who will listen how amazing this place is. We continue to take Enzo to the Lodge for daycare about once a week (something that would NEVER have been possible before his training because he was so reactive.....he didn't know how to interact with other dogs). I look forward to a follow up appointment with Josh soon to fine tune some skills he taught Enzo. This is a wonderful place that you can rest assured your dog is being well taken care of. Please, if you are at your wits end; meet Melissa and her team. You will NOT regret it!

I can't say enough good things about Josh and Katie, the two trainers that worked with our rescue Lucy. When we got her about 9 months ago she was a handful. She didn't like dogs, people or pretty much anything or anyone but us. She is 3 years old and came with her set of issues. After the 3 week residency with Positive K9 we have a new dog!! She actually wants to play with other dogs, and we are continuing to work on her people skills. I am so grateful for all they have done for her. Totally recommend this program to anyone that has a difficult dog. They are great!

We have been blessed to have a BIG out of control Boxer-Bulldog mix male puppy since he was seven weeks old. He is now a year old. He is the most lovable dog in the world but has wild energy. We didn't take him for walks, he took us for walks. We are an energetic couple in our late 50s/early 60s, but we just couldn't control his pulling and craziness. One visit to Positive K-9 and 99% of our problems are no longer concerns. It was so noticeable that one of our neighbors who walks his dog at the same time we walk ours (and has always had to cross the street because our dog would go nuts and it was all we could do to hang on to him) commented that he couldn't believe the change the first time he saw us after our training session. After two nights, he is now walking with us. Our dog is so much happier and content now. We are in control, and our dog loves it! I can't wait for my next training! THANK YOU, JOSH.

I would highly recommend Positive K9 to anyone who has a dog with behavioral problems. As I sit today watching my dogs play together, I think back to before I met Melissa and her head trainer, Kourtney. My older shepherd constantly attacked my younger shepherd. I worried for the life of my young dog. Numerous other trainers told me I either needed to euthanize the aggressive dog or keep them separated FOR LIFE! After a residency program at Positive K9 I had a new dog! I worked hard to keep up the training I received from Melissa and Kourtney and today the payoff is spectacular! If you have a dog with behavior problems that you want fixed (not just managed) call them! I am so glad I did!
