I made an appointment for my 7th month old puppy a week beforehand and informed the receptionist that my puppy does not like getting her claws clipped. The receptionist informed me that there will be a vet who can give my puppy a sleeping medication so that they can perform this task. I said I was ok with that and that was the main reason why I wanted him to receive this service.
Fast forward to my appointment on Sunday 12/15 at 2:30 p.m. we dropped our puppy off. Their receptionist told us that the service will be 2 to 3 hours and they will call when they are finished.
We picked him up around 4:30 p.m. and our groomer, Jewels, a pink haired a lady, tugged at his leash aggressively. My puppy's tail was between his legs and she told us that they were not able to clip his claws because he was biting her. Jewels proceeded to grab my puppy's paw forcefully and bent it forward and backwards-demonstrating how we should desensitize touch. By the way, we play with his paw, ears and tails all the time. My husband was the one who picked our puppy up and was so furious he gave her no tip and left hurriedly. He wasn't aware that our puppy was promised sleeping medication.
To conclude we will not be letting our puppy be ABUSED their groomers at Petco and will be advising other folks to avoid this Petco branch at all cost!
