I know many people may feel that they can train their dog themselves but I am so blessed to have found Miss Judy at Petco for my new dog's training. Miss Judy did an amazing job teaching me to train my rescue puppy, Lulu! I thought at first I could train her myself but quickly I could see that her anxiety of being in a new place and with new parents was both overwhelming for her and for us. Recently, we were tested with the training Miss Judy provided us and found it to have been life saving for Lulu. I had been training Lulu with a strong command to come to me when I would call her. Miss Judy explained that you don't want to use a strong command when asking a dog to 'come here' but to use a friendly, warm and inviting voice so the dog is not afraid to come to you but happy to do so. A week ago the leash I was using came out of my hand and Lulu found herself excitedly free to run! I was in such a panic that I started yelling in a stern voice for her to come back to me. Then I remembered what Miss Judy shared with me. I quickly changed my tone and started 'happily and invitingly' yelling to Lulu to 'come here'. I could not believe it but as fast as she was running away she, quickly turned and started running towards me. She ran all the way up to me and I quickly picked her up into the safety of my arms. I was so excited and relieved and I knew in an instant who I was to thank for the safety of my little girl. Thank you Miss Judy! Thank you for saving Lulu's life because as she was running towards the street it could have been disastrous if a car had hit her. I am so glad I invested in the training Miss Judy provided and I'm so blessed that Lulu is safe, happy and hopefully with us for many years to come! With much gratitude, Laura, Scott and Lulu
