Petco Dog Training

We took our rescue, Evie, to the 6-week Fundamentals Group Class with Alyssa F. and could not speak more highly of her! Evie is an adult rescue who was timid and easily spooked. We signed her up for these training sessions to build her confidence, strengthen her social skills, and ultimately help her see that the world + people can be fun and loving. Before classes even started, Alyssa reached out and we were able to chat through some concerns I had about Evie's shyness. She was fully understanding and even shared a game plan for class to help keep Evie and the other participating dogs comfortable. From start to finish, Evie feels like an entirely new dog! In the very first class, Evie was shy and spent most of the class sitting and observing, not really interested in engaging with us, Alyssa, or the class. By week 6, Evie was all but sprinting into Petco, wiggling her whole body with excitement, and asking for love and pets from Alyssa and other class members. Alyssa was SO patient with us as first-time dog owners, and with Evie; meeting her where she was rather than trying to make her do something she wasn't comfortable with. She does an amazing job adjusting the class in ways that make it feel like each dog involved is getting 1:1 attention and training based on their needs and comfort despite being in a group setting. We as Evie's parents had about 10 million questions and comments that Alyssa worked through with us with so much patience, empathy, and knowledge. On the last day of class, we signed up for the next level of training with Alyssa and can't wait to work with her again and to continue to watch our precious Evie grow into the confident, happy gal we know she is!
