Ugo, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I put my heart and soul into my work and it really saddens me when anyone comes away from an interaction with me feeling I've let them down in some way. Fortunately that is so rare that this is actually my very first negative review in 16 years of business. What’s even more surprising is that it's being left by someone I feel I couldn't have done more to accommodate. Unfortunately you’ve left out a number of important details: When you signed up for your free phone consult, there were 2 occasions in which you had to agree that the appointment time and date would be honored. You then received a confirmation page asking you to take a moment to put the appointment in your calendar and set any needed reminders or alerts for yourself, followed by a confirmation email reiterating all this, followed by two separate emails reminding you of your appointment as it neared. Yet, despite all of these reminders and requests for my time to be respected, you were a no show for your phone consult. It wasn't until AFTER the 15 minutes allotted to this consult were up, that you called me back. This was the first accommodation I made for you. I didn’t have to, but I answered, and even gave you a further 20 minutes of my time. We ended up booking a virtual lesson for Sunday afternoon and the booking was confirmed with payment, my standard practice. On Sunday you ask for a last-minute reschedule because you didn’t realize it was Superbowl Sunday. It’s too short of notice for me to book another lesson in your spot but I decide to take the financial hit because happy clients are more important and again opt to accommodate you so you can enjoy the game. We reschedule for Wed. On Wed you are again a no-show. I send several texts that go unanswered and wait around on Zoom in case you're just running late and maybe we can at least get half our lesson in. Half an hour AFTER THE LESSON IS OVER you text me that you had a work emergency and ask if we can reschedule again. So this was not just a no-show but a no-call, no-show, and it was after TWO prior accommodations had been made for you (at my financial expense). I am a reasonable person. I understand that sometimes things happen that mess up one’s plans. I have had many clients need to reschedule last-minute due to an emergency and have always accommodated them. Had you notified me in any way, whether that be by phone, text, or email, I would have done the same for you. But you gave no notice whatsoever and only AFTER the entire lesson was over did you finally ask to reschedule due to an emergency. This is literally the first time a client has ever waited until their appointment is OVER to ask to reschedule for an emergency. I find it perplexing that you would expect me to foot the bill for you on this. How exactly do you think I can earn a living if I am allowing constant last-minute reschedules, even after my time was already spent on the lesson? I'm pretty sure anyone reading this will understand why it was appropriate for you to be charged for this lesson and that in fact services WERE rendered in the form of my presence at the lesson you booked. You may not have shown up, but I did. You paid for an hour of my time and you got an hour of my time. Your own presence at the lesson was your responsibility. At some point we all need to take responsibility for what we could have done better in a given conflict. For my part, I have learned that I need to use more explicit language regarding forfeiture of payment for no shows and I've already updated the text on both my website and contact form to reflect that. I'm sorry we won't get to work together, as I was genuinely looking forward to helping you with your dog. I hope you find adequate help elsewhere and wish you well.
