I adopted a dog (half lab/half pointer) in July 2022 and started bringing her (Winter) for private lessons at Perfect Pooches after she snapped at my sister's dog, jumped on my mom, rolled in deer pee almost daily for 3 months, destroyed my room while I was at work, and tugged me on the leash daily unless she was wearing a pinch collar. Timothy is very thorough and intentional right from the moment he allows the dog to greet him from the car. A few minutes into the lesson, I saw my dog transform in his presence. I remember thinking "That's amazing. What is this guy, a magician?" He is like the dog whisperer of Sussex County; I was seriously impressed by the respect he instantly got from my dog and that's when my whole perspective changed. Walking into the session, I knew I was doing something wrong and couldn't figure it out. He helped me start back at zero with Winter, so I could regain her respect for my rules, my belongings, my space, etc. Winter now gets to spend the day with him Monday-Friday. He reinforces the rules so she has consistency, and he gives her the exercise and mental stimulation that she needs and deserves to be a happy dog while I'm at work. Even if you just try a lesson or two with your dog, it will better the relationship between both of you forever. It definitely did for me and I'm so so grateful!

We liked Tim from the start. We spent a long time on the phone with him, asking all sorts of questions, which he answered patiently and candidly. No BS. Our 1 year old dog stayed with him for boarding only for a week, and already came back to us calmer. Then we opted for the 10-day Camp to get him properly trained. On the pick up day, Tim spent 2 hours with us teaching how we should continue with the education and training showing what we should do, fixing what we were not doing right, and demonstrating how to make our dog learn and follow our commands. He also sent us some literature over the email, and is very open to keep in touch by answering questions and boarding Ringo. Definitely recommend Tim's service.
