Pecan Hill Kennel

We absolutely adore Pecan Hill for boarding our energetic Brittany. We have been driving out to them for our boarding needs for the past couple of years and have never looked back. It is worth the drive in from town. Dogs staying get their own inside/outside kennel, they get PLENTY of playtime, and Porter is always bathed and nails clipped at pick up for no extra charge. You don’t find that all included ANYWHERE. Also, the land is just absolutely beautiful. It’s what I imagine dog heaven must look like. Porter always comes back super tired from having a great time. I would recommend 10/10!

Do not leave your animals in the care of this facility. The conditions are unacceptable--kennels are old, rusting, and poorly maintained, with loose gates that pose serious safety risks. Dogs are left unattended for extended periods of time, which can lead to injury or worse. While they knew the severity of my dog's separation anxiety, which they said they could train out of her, they did not keep a close enough eye on her behaviors under distress. My dog suffered a severe injury while under their supervision. The explanation they provided--that she hurt herself trying to escape her kennel--does not match the conclusions of multiple veterinarians, who suspect blunt force trauma or possibly being hit by a car. Eight months later, we are still dealing with the aftermath of her injuries, and the facility has stopped covering the ongoing veterinary expenses. This experience has been heartbreaking and has actually made my dog regress in any training progress. I urge other pet owners to think twice before trusting this business with their animals.
