Can you train racoons
Racoons can be trained, yes. In order to possess and train a racoon you need a permit from your state Fish and Game, Department of Natural Resources, etc. I don't recommend keeping captive racoons, and definitely don't recommend interacting with wild ones, especially as they are one of the primary carriers of rabies in the Eastern US, and also because it's not a good idea t habituate wildlife to humans. If you are asking if we can train them here at Peaceable Paws, the answer is no, we do not have a permit.

How much is a dog training academy? I'm trying to be certified dog trainer
Hi Dante! We have several different academies, starting with our Level 1 Basic Dog Training and Behavior Academy. Each is 6 days long and costs $1500. After you complete the Level 1 Academy we have Behavior Modification, Advanced Training and Behavior Study, Canine Cognition, Canine Aggression, Multi-Species and Cognition Plus. I'm really happy with the expertise and training we've received thus far.
We did a starter consultation, followed by a handful of 1-1 sessions. Then some group sessions too.
The best thing is that we receive lots and lots of assignments to do at home. We obviously get out of these what time and dedication we put into them. We do about 3-6 mini-sessions a day at home. I really see a difference!
I do think we'll be back for many more classes.

Don't inquire or give a phone number, they will call you and text you several times a day and never stop. I had to block their number to stop the calls.

I could not say enough good things about Peaceable Paws!! When we first started our Basic Manner class our dogs (bonded pair of Great Pyrenees) did not know any basic commands and it was hard to get them to listen. By week 4 we saw night and day difference from when we started on their obedience and listening skills. Diana sent us so much extra information on questions we had and really worked with us and our dogs at the level we needed. I’d recommend them to every dog owner - we could not have had a better experience! The last class they even hung up a graduation banner and brought props to take pictures with , they’re just so kind and genuine people!
