No matter what, the sooner you entrust yourself and your dog to Janet (Pawz for Health), the better. Janet is a consummate, experienced, knowledgeable yet quite pleasant professional. She is a certified behavior expert, meaning she is more qualified than a professional trainer. After hours of research, reading and conversing with others, we selected Janet for initial consultation and a 10 day puppy camp. The results were immediate and remarkable, as others have shared. We were experienced dog owners but clearly needed quality positive training help with our feisty 8 week old rescue puppy to start off correctly and keep things on track long term. We learned that time is of the essence because proper training and socialization when puppies are younger ensures faster, easier and better results. Janet's practical, no nonsense but caring approach quickly took us from strain and pain to simplicity and fun. While we were doing several things properly, we still had much to learn to provide the proper structure, routine, expectations and communication for our energetic new family member. There is a lot of conflicting information available on how to proceed from many seemingly reliable sources, so it is critical and confidence inspiring to obtain the correct advice and assistance from a trusted specialist. In this regard, Janet Oquendo of Pawz for Health is your best choice. Additionally, I will add some words about the costs of these services. First, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Second, the proper care of a dog requires some investment in both time and money. Good owners should understand that from the beginning - if your are going to do it, do it right. Otherwise, it's better to leave it to those who will and stay out of the game or get a goldfish. Third, most of the dog training schools, services and educators we reviewed and heard about in this DMV area can get pricey and add up fast. Comparatively, however, we found Janet to be quite reasonable. And, the more carefully and consistently you follow her advice, the more value you'll receive. in sum - we think she's a better Bark for the Buck!
