We can’t say enough wonderful things about Shannon and Pawsonal Training! Our 6 month old Lakeland Terrier, Oliver, completed the 3-week board and train program, and the transformation is incredible. Shannon didn’t just train Oliver, she trained us too. Throughout the program she sent detailed training videos, updates and explanations so we could see his progress and learn how to reinforce everything at home. On turnover day, she spent extensive in person time with me walking me through every command, technique and tip so I felt prepared. What sets Shannon apart is her continued support, which I have already utilized just one day after bringing Ollie home. She had already answered questions to help us navigate keeping things consistent. This level of commitment is huge when you have a new pup! And the real proof? Our first walk last night! Ollie walked at my heel the entire time, focused and calm. Meanwhile, our two non-graduate dogs looked like they were auditioning for a sled team as they pulled my husband along on the walk. Our English Golden has extreme fear and anxiety. I reached out to Shannon to discuss a board and train and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. I was so nervous to leave him and not only did she put my mind at ease, she kept us updated all throughout the time she had him. We received multiple videos and pictures of him. Shannon worked with my 1yr old German shepherd dog for 2 weeks during a board and train. The transformation is remarkable. She has taught her household manners. She now knows come/stay, sit/stay, place/stay, and had been introduced to healing on leash with the distractions that were keeping us from enjoying our walks. She has also given me the key word “off” for unwanted behavior. Our dog, Stark (1 yr 3 months, male, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier) just graduated from the 3-week training program with Shannon at Pawsonal Training, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the experience. Our dog has always been very nervous around people, with avoidance as his go-to coping mechanism. At the same time, he absolutely loves being outside and around other dogs—but he’s still very much in the puppy stage and didn’t have an “off switch” to calm himself down. Shannon did an incredible job teaching not just our dog, but us, how to find the right balance. She helped him learn obedience when he’s overly excited, while also encouraging healthy curiosity when he’s nervous—even when that meant breaking a command—without letting him fall back into avoidance. That nuanced, thoughtful approach has made a world of difference for his confidence. Shannon and Stark also worked with his brother, Brax, who completed this training three years ago, helping both dogs learn the difference between playtime and simply coexisting calmly together. Seeing that growth in both of them has been amazing. We just went on our first walk in a proper heel, and he did AMAZING.
