Pawsome University

This review is long overdue but I wanted to give a 5 stars to Jamie! We have two frenchies and my younger Frenchie was having some aggression issue towards my older one that we could not figure out why. We booked with Jamie through a referral and she was able to assess the issue very quickly and gave us some recommendations. She is very good at what she does and very thorough with everything. We have since had an issue with him being aggressive towards his brother and couldn’t be anymore thankful to Jamie!

Do not use this trainer (Jaime) if you would like hands on training. Our two in-person visits consisted of no training-just a walk up and down the driveway. She recommended Fluoxetine (Prozac) and told us we would be able to wean our dog off within 6 months. We were concerned that the improvement in behavior was due to the medicine (and not that our dog was actually learning) and she got angry when we suggested that to her. After 3 months, we agreed that we could try to wean him off the medicine, and his behavior was the same as it was prior to training. We had to go back to the full dose of medicine. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the training and our dog's lack of progress, she was very rude and defensive. We asked to come to an agreement for a refund, and she texted "our communication stops here" and blocked our phone number. Very unprofessional. After reading other Google reviews, I see that she did the same thing to another client.

I reached out to Jamie because I was having a baby and had a rescue that was very frightened of people, nipped out in fear, and I had reached my limit with what I could do. Jaime and Pawesome University fit my beliefs of positive reinforcement and a K9 behavioral therapist was what my K9 girl needed. I live in CA and was skeptical about dog training over Zoom, rather than in person, but it was exactly what we needed! Our sessions with Jaime consisted of learning how to help our dog and understanding her needs. Jaime empowered us to be able to help our girl by learning how to be the support she needed. There were many things we were doing wrong without realizing, so through our Zoom sessions and feedback on videos or through messages describing situations we were able to help our dog be set up for success. She welcomed the new baby and all the extra people that visited and learned that people aren’t all scary and many are loving. Jaime really changed our lives. When we reached out it was out of desperation because we didn’t want to send our dog back to the rescue center we got her from but things needed to change. She is best friends and so loving with our son now, she enjoys people and loves getting so much attention and scratches and is so much more comfortable and happy in the world. She had so much anxiety she could not even enjoy playing ball in the front yard. Now she enjoys spending time and playing in the yard and even sunbathing lazily in the driveway! Jaime saved our family and we are so grateful to her for reaching us to understand our dog’s needs and how to support them. The Zoom training was exactly what we needed and the support was excellent! I 100% recommend Pawesome University to everyone I know!
