Pawsitive State of Mind Dog Training

I highly recommend Pawsitive State of Mind Dog Training with Elizabeth Lenz! I took the Puppy Pre-K class with my puppy and had an amazing experience. Elizabeth is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to learn from, and the classes are fun and engaging. As someone with no formal dog-training experience, I really appreciate how she explained everything in a simple and easy to follow way. I never felt overwhelmed or like I was expected to already know what I was doing. Most importantly, the class gave me the tools I need to work with my puppy, who is naturally very shy and quite nervous about the world. I know that without the right approach he could easily develop into a very reactive dog, so having Elizabeth teach me how to build his confidence, understand his behavior, and handle situations appropriately has been invaluable. I left the class feeling much more confident in my ability to support my puppy. Elizabeth genuinely cares about helping both dogs and their owners succeed, and her knowledge and guidance have made such a positive difference for us. I’m so glad we took this class and we will also be taking the puppy kindergarten class next. I absolutely recommend Pawsitive State of Mind to anyone looking for thoughtful, positive, and effective dog training!

We loved taking both puppy play and learn and puppy kindergarten classes here! Although we had owned dogs before, we had never attended formal obedience training and WOW does it make a difference. We are so happy with the foundations that Elizabeth helped us to build and grow. She always offered great ideas and solutions to troubleshoot the different challenges that come with puppy-rearing that have been so helpful for our family! Thank you!

Elizabeth is an extremely knowledgeable and helpful trainer. Her help has made a real difference in our shy puppies confidence and training on key life skills. In addition to our classroom time we also had Elizabeth do some private training in our home. It was incredibly helpful in starting to manage our young puppies jumping behavior. My wife and I both would highly recommend seeking her help if you need help with dog training at any level. Our puppy Gracie also says 2 Paws Up.

Awesome kindergarten class, you feel like you get one on one attention while getting the benefit of group support, distraction training for impulse control, and socialization. Came away feeling confident we can make it through the teenage phase and she helped us learn about each dogs individual needs and communication styles. Even if you feel experienced there is so much benefit to a class setting to help set up you and your pup for success for life, and Elizabeth is definitely the right choice! I'll be scheduling my older dogs in her other programs for sure.

We absolutely loved the Nosework for Fun class! I brought my two nervous dogs—both of whom can be reactive toward people and other dogs—and this was the perfect, safe setup for them. The trainer created such a calm, supportive environment that allowed both dogs to work confidently at their own pace. She was especially responsive to my very timid dog, adjusting the original game on the spot to meet her comfort level so she could experience real success. Every week built on the last with creative, engaging challenges that helped my dogs gain confidence, focus, and joy. I loved how the class emphasized teamwork, trust, and connection through play. We’ll definitely be back for more classes and highly recommend Pawsitive State of Mind to anyone looking for thoughtful, positive training that truly meets dogs where they are.
