We foster dogs as well as have 3 of our own. Our third dog is a foster that was a 6 month old puppy that we ended up adopting. She is now 11 months old. Tammy worked with us with her because she came with absolutely no manners or training and was a spit fire on four legs. Her name is Poppy and she now: sits, comes, lays down, doesn't jump when excited, is housebroken and plays fetch. We are still working on "stay", give (drop it) and heel (although her leash manners have vastly improved). Tammy worked with us using easy to remember proven psychology training techniques. Best of all, she explained the "why" behind everything she taught us (and Poppy) so it made complete sense about what we were supposed to do and why it worked. The nice thing about it all, is I can take the concepts Tammy has taught us and because she has explained them so well - I can apply them to next steps - like "stay", "drop it" and "heel". Tammy was kind and gentle with us and the dogs and my wild child is on her way to becoming a model canine citizen.

We couldn’t have been more pleased with how Tammy worked with our Bichon puppy. She was professional and thorough, collecting as much information about our pup and the issues we were having, prior to our first meeting. She began “training” from the moment she entered our home, just in the way she interacted with our dog. Our puppy (and our 11 yr old dog) reacted very positively to Tammy’s training, and happily greeted her on subsequent visits. She was careful to train us as well as the dogs, demonstrating techniques and then letting us try. Our main issue (potty training regression) was resolved quickly, after which we also learned some basic commands and how to recognize behavior cues. Highly recommend Tammy and her positive training!

We have now worked with Tammy twice; once six years ago with our very first puppy and again just this summer with the addition of our second. Each time we've contacted Tammy we were feeling overwhelmed with the demands that came with our new family members and felt we needed help. Tammy came in, and instantly we felt as if we were back in control of our lives with our new puppies. She gave us many training techniques, guided us on kennel training, and taught us how to walk our dogs with the practice of different real life scenarios. If we were having a specific issue with one of our pups and a training technique just wasn't helping the behavior, she was always ready with another idea for us to try. Her suggestions have always felt realistic and manageable, even with three children to also care for. Our dogs have learned quickly and are complimented often on their demeanor and behavior. Tammy very much understands dogs and treats them as the individuals that they are. She is patient and calm - two very important traits to have when working with puppies and their humans.
