Paws N' Play

We are very disappointed with the unprofessional and costly service ($3400) provided at Paws n Play. The training and boarding for our young 8 month old pup was a disaster. When we first arrived and questioned the owner, Terra, about her methods, she knew we were not keen on the use of an electric shock collar, but she assured us it would be used minimally and at very low charge. Upon visiting the facility during his stay it was startling to witness the constant frequency and increased voltage that she implemented to simply get him to lay down!  His neck was red and irritated from the shock collar use. Her training was based on negative reinforcement using the e-collar to make our dog ultimately submit to her.  When our dog returned home we decided not to use the collar, our pup showed symptoms of irritability and biting, he was ultimately lacking any real obedience such as stay, down, leash walking and jumping which is a demonstration that 3 weeks of submission through the use of a shock collar was worthless. We have now taken him to a reputable boarding/training facility (at the cost of $2100) which uses positive reinforcement and understands dog behavior. It is amazing to witness his progress and transformation!Terra blamed his breed for her failure but that is lacking credibility and responsibility. We were unable to get even a partial refund. We highly do not recommend this business!

As a fellow dog professional, it truly means so much to have the support, encouragement, and connection of others in this industry. Terra and I connected through a dog training discussion group where professionals come together to offer guidance and share knowledge. Terra is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their craft. I highly recommend Paws N’ Play to anyone looking for top notch training services!

My husband and I had the opportunity to work with Rebecca. We appreciate Rebecca and the incredible care she gave our pup during his 3 week board and train. She went above and beyond, and the difference in him has been amazing to see. He came home more confident, responsive, and with such a great foundation, and it’s clear how much time, patience, and heart she put into working with him. I’m especially thankful for the way she cared for him while we were dealing with a hospital situation. Knowing he was safe and in such good hands gave me so much peace of mind during a really stressful time. That meant more to me than I can fully put into words. She always kept us updated throughout the 3 weeks. Rebecca is not only a talented trainer but someone who really cares about the dogs and families she works with. I feel very lucky that Biko was able to work with her, and I truly appreciate everything she did for him. She’s AWESOME !!

Terra is amazing! She helped me so much with my last dog, Duke, and now I’ve just started working with her again looking for for my new pup. She helped me do an evaluation on a dog that I’m thinking about getting. One thing about her, she’s very open and honest and even if it’s something you don’t necessarily wanna hear she is willing to tell you, for example, if the dogs are going to need a lot of work or a little work or a little/a lot of training, etc. She’s super knowledgeable, patient, and really cares about the dogs. Her shop, Paws N’ Play, is adorable too! Highly recommend her to anyone needing a great trainer.
