I fostered a dog with physical and emotional challenges and Patrick was able to help me overcome both problems. My dog was hit by a car as a pup and fractured both back legs and a hip. His family wanted to put him down but the Boykin Spaniel Society stepped in and arranged for needed surgeries. Because of his long recovery he was restricted to a crate and developed behavioral issues and weight gain. When he became my foster, he had never been on a leash, had issues walking, had behavioral problems and needed to lose weight. After a few weeks I was crying because I was not making progress and the Boykin Spaniel Society connected me with Patrick. To make a long story short, I adopted my foster because Patrick helped with all areas I was struggling with. In addition, I had a shelter kitten that my dog chased and Patrick was able to create an environment where they coexist. I see both of them now sleeping in the same room in front of me right now. Patrick gave us all peace so our family is happily functioning! I can’t say enough about how much Patrick’s interventions helped my family!

Patrick truly has a deep understanding of dogs, and uses his knowledge to customize his training to your dog specifically. Our extremely stubborn golden retriever responded to Patrick from the moment he first walked in. I appreciate Patrick’s approach to training both the dog and owners. He works with the dog first, making sure they understand what they are supposed to be doing. Then he explains it to the humans, and has them practice. He is thorough, gentle, patient, and very clear in his instructions and explanations. He also has great communication. He makes it a point to be available for questions and help between sessions. He has made the process actually enjoyable.
