We had a horrible experience there. We took our 6-month-old puppy there for boarding train, they used a prong collar incorrectly pulling too hard and also it was placed around his throat instead of right behind his ears where it's supposed to be. This in turn damaged his vocal cords, he came home with bloodshot eyes and couldn't bark or make any sound at all for four days. We then had a vet bill, he was placed on steroids and we literally had to give him ice cubes before he ate because his throat was sore. When we went to pick him up, the girl who brought him out to show us what they had worked on, she was pulling so hard on the prong collar that she almost lifted his front paws right off the floor. Needless to say when he came home he was a different dog. I had trained him to sit lay down and several other things. He was extremely scared of everything and was using the bathroom and the house when he was completely house trained before he left. His a year and a half now and still is scared of every new thing. I spoke to the owner of this place, she basically told me that she watched the cameras and that the trainer was talked to and had to go through some retraining classes. I paid $1,300 for my dog to come home injured and worse than he was before he went, I wasn't offered any compensation at all. I would never recommend taking your pet to a trainer who uses a prong collar because you can't trust everyone there to use it correctly. Our veterinary clinic was very upset and said they never recommend it either.

We have been taking our dog Oliver to Paws and Beyond since January of 2026. We started with day care for a couple of hours each week until he was comfortable. Once he was comfortable, we did a board and train. It has made such a big difference. Oliver was adopted from the Saginaw Animal Control and we didn’t know much about his life before we adopted him. Let’s just say the first couple of months with him were chaotic. He didn’t know any basic commands and didn’t know how to behave on a leash. Now, he is a brand new dog. We still have things to work on, but he has made such huge improvements all due to the staff at Paws and Beyond. He still gets excited any time we mention him going to daycare. He loves it there! I can’t recommend this place enough. If you are looking for boarding or training or daycare or grooming, the staff at Paws and Beyond are amazing!
