Paws Abilities Dog Training (est. 1999) helps people enjoy their dogs! Our trainers utilize the most effective reward-based and proven techniques available, and are current on the best adult learning trends to help you teach your dog. We keep up-to-date on the latest research and are members of multiple professional organizations. We love both ends of the leash, and are excited to work with the whole family to help you achieve the great family pet or competition dog you’ve always dreamed of! Paws Abilities works closely with veterinarians and veterinary behaviorists, as well as breeders, shelters, rescues, and community programs. We believe in a collaborative community, and look forward to helping you enjoy your dog!

Awesome trainer (Katie) and constructive classes. Went to reactive dog class with my rescue dog from Chicago. The trainer was very in-tune with my dog's behavior and responded accordingly. Definitely a non-judgmental zone for dogs and owners. After the first class, I already had a more enjoyable dog!

I’ve taken several classes at pawsabilities (puppy socialization, beginning and intermediate obedience, scentwork 1-3, happy feet) and have found all the classes to be fun and informative. Every instructor I’ve had has been excellent, well prepared, and willing to answer questions. They use positive training methods. Puppy socialization is excellent for exposing pups to new surfaces, sounds, objects, etc in a fun and positive manner without over stimulating them. I enrolled my young puppy in obedience at the same time (since the goals are different) and that was also an excellent class. I can’t say enough good things about the scentwork classes, those are just a blast. They also offer CGC testing and trick dog testing on a pretty regular basis, which is nice.
