We really loved working your reactive dog. Through our extensive process, we confirmed that he loves to work, he loves structure, and he learned to understand where to put that energy. We always hope that an owner will follow our recommendations and the take advantage of the facility lessons included. Unfortunately, we get that distance and preference do not always accommodate. As you know, he was here longer because of his aggression towards others and his inability to remain calm on walks and with changing situations. He did not go home miraculously changes of this behavior. As we explained, it takes follow though to transfer those rules home. At your Gohome lesson we showed you how he worked through those distractions with another dog. We do have a wonderful followup system and although we could have been better at calculating Alaska time, we do have logged calls, texts , and emails. Looking at those messages and photos remind us how much fun our handlers had helping him reach reward. We also worked to correct the nuisance behaviors. Your dog required our focus and we are happy to have instilled foundation obedience and manners. This review highlights multiple strengths of our company. First, we are balanced trainers and using full reward or correction in a way that does not change the dogs temperament or personality is key! This means that anyone who follows through with marking behavior you want to continue will find success. Secondly, We would never want our client to have to invest in another trainer, but because of our work that trainer is having quick results in the week. Although we are not in your area, we do travel over an hour away to meet clients there monthly. We are sorry that our times did not align with your schedule. You still have a session available to use if you want to get some more return on your investment. Lastly, you are right! If our work with your dog had started as a puppy in the imprint stage for long term learning, he would not be as misunderstood. He is very smart and found a way to better his situation through nuisance instead of obedience. We are glad to have had the opportunity to help. We do value time and energy and we appreciate the feedback.
