Partners Snake Avoidance

I took my young Shepherd in for snake avoidance training as we live near the desert and have a place up north. She is very prey driven and loves to chase lizards in the woods piles. I have to say I was a bit skeptical of the training because it was so quick but this weekend we encountered our first rattlesnake. She heard the rattle, jumped back and ran the opposite direction. Very thankful for the training, I would recommend it to anyone here in AZ especially if you live near wooded or desert areas. We will definitely be going back for refresher training. Thanks for keeping my pup safe

I took my corgi for a snake avoidance refresher. Sierra and Monica were the trainers and in addition to being very professional, they also explained every step of the process and what do expect. I'm glad I did it, because two weeks later, while we were gone, our dog sitter called to tell us that there is a big rattlesnake in the yard. She told us that the dog showed no interest in getting close to it and followed inside as she was called. That was the same day that one of our neighbor's dog was bitten by a rattlesnake and had to endure painful and expensive treatment. I attribute Coco's behavior to her recent snake avoidance training. I will do it every year.
