I can’t say enough good things about Dawn and Kris. I got my dog from them at 7 months old, and I am truly blown away by how well behaved, confident, and well-adjusted he is. It’s very clear how much time, care, and intention they put into their dogs from the very beginning. I found Paragon through my brother, who sent his lab for gun dog training, and I’m so grateful I did. They truly know what they’re doing - not just in training, but in temperament, structure, and raising dogs that are set up to succeed. My dog is on track to become a therapy dog, and that speaks volumes about the foundation they gave him. Even now, they continue to be supportive and available, which means so much as an owner. If you’re looking for breeders who are knowledgeable, ethical, and genuinely invested in their dogs and the families they go to, I couldn’t recommend them more!

Sent my imported Labrador to Dawn and Kris for 6 months of gun dog training. Not only was it worth every cent but their care for him was unmatched and their ability to answer questions post trainings extremely valuable. No scenario or question goes unanswered. Their knowledge of dogs and sceneries is fantastic and beyond comprehensible. They are a true resource for owners, and for the gundogs we love to have in the house and hunt with. I would HIGHLY recommend Paragon Retrievers to anyone looking for gundogs training, obedience and more.

Well Mykah and I sent our boy Zolo too get some all around work in. And Dawn and Chris was up too the challenge of working with him. He’s spent 4 months in the care and let me tell you it was the best decision you’ll make!! They have an amazing property and they are the best team and communicators. They make a great foundation and build them from the ground up. If your looking for an upland or bird dog or just a hunting companion they are the people/family too choose!!!! They are also breeders if you’re looking for your life time companion!! And I’ll also say there the best at that aswell they take great time and prep into the perfect litters and they will work with you on what kind of training you want. I can go on and on but Dawn & Chris are the people you want too go too!!!!

After getting married, my husband and I knew we wanted to add a furry member to our new family — and we’re beyond grateful we found Paragon Retrievers. We brought home our sweet boy, Bleu, from the Merlin x Anna-Sue litter born on 9/11/24. We traveled all the way from New York to Missouri in November to pick him up, and it was absolutely worth every mile. Bleu has been the most incredible addition to our lives — loving, intelligent, and beautifully well-adjusted from day one. Kris and Dawn are truly exceptional at what they do. From the very first conversation, it was clear how much passion, knowledge, and heart they put into their program. Bleu came home at 9 weeks old already exposed to various sounds, socialized thoughtfully, and to our surprise — completely crate trained. His first night in our home, he curled up in his crate without a single whimper. It made the transition so smooth and gave us such peace of mind. The foundation they provided made it easy for me — someone who’s learning as she goes — to continue training with confidence. Bleu has responded so well because of the early work that was already laid out for him by the time we picked him up. I would wholeheartedly recommend Paragon Retrievers to absolutely anyone. Not only are Kris and Dawn phenomenal breeders, but they are also warm, supportive, and deeply invested in the well-being of their dogs even after they go home. Dawn, in particular, has been so accessible and helpful — always available to offer advice on everything from vaccines to training tips. That ongoing relationship is truly priceless.
