FirstBarkSteve is the perfect fit for us and our dogs. He’s exceedingly patient with the dogs (and us! 😁) but clearly the leader. We knew we had a fair amount of work ahead of us but now we have a solid plan. We’re already seeing progress in just two days. We have a 6 year old 90-pound, high energy, English Golden/Yellow Lab cross. His name is Barney. He is very strong, easily distracted and had been pulling hard on leash especially when meeting people or other dogs. We contacted Steve James (Pack Leader Dog Training) primarily to help us train Barney to stop pulling on leash and to help with several other issues. Steve came to our house and spent several hours helping us train ourselves to train Barney. By the time Steve left we had learned a great deal about training dogs and, miracle of miracles, Barney walked on leash without the hard pulling we had been experiencing. Steve was immensely helpful teaching us why and how dogs respond. We now look forward to pleasant walks with Barney. He is also much more responsive to all commands. Wow! Absolutely amazing! Steve was so awesome with my dog Angel. In only one session she seems more relaxed and more confident. He showed me new ideas and tools to use with her. Walking with Angel was a nightmare and I never knew what to expect. She’s always been so aggressive towards other dogs. With Steve’s technique(s) she’s a different dog! She walked calm and confidently past these other dogs and just seemed overall happier on our walk. Can’t wait for the next walk with my Angel! Thank you so very much Steve!
He is amazing with dogs! Easy to understand tips/tricks as well! My dog is a very hyper Aussie and would jump, pull, bark on repeat; after working with Pack Leader she is already behaving so well!

Steve james was absolutely beyond amazing. His knowledge and skill of dog training was only superseded by his calm expertise,compassion and calm demeanor. I had lost hope and was devastated by tbe loss of my dear friend when i acquired his little dog junior tbrough his recent sudden passing. Junior had never been away from his father and had been severely traumatized by his loss and i was starting from ground zero. Steve gave me not only hope, but the tools to work with to rectify all of my concerns re. Junior, through his technique of training not only junior, but myself. I cannot recommend him more highly, he is truly a credit to his profession. I believe now that junior will have the chance to live a fulfilling life.
