Ben’s relational skills and self regulation make him a brilliant dog trainer, and a great human being; every move he makes is intentional, and it brings a palpable calmness to all around him. Ben not only teaches technique, but also the logic and psychology behind his methodology. I especially appreciate his flexible approach, one that combines both positive reinforcement of good behaviors with correction of negative behaviors. I have had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Ben in both a professional and personal capacity over the last few months, and highly recommend him for any and all dog training needs. You will leave his sessions with the conceptual knowledge needed to continue the training without him, and it will serve well beyond working with your pet.

I've recommended Ben to every person I know with a dog. My dog Lucy and I went from not being able to walk anywhere without her trying to jump in front of cars or lunge at other dogs to her being able to pass a dog without even looking at it. I had hired Ben to help with my dogs reactivity but got much more than that. Lucy now lays in her bed while I cook and eat dinner and no longer tries to take potato chips out of my hand when I'm snacking on the couch. After working with multiple different trainers I had really given up hope that my dog and I were going to be able to go on adventures together because I did not know how to keep her calm. I am so grateful to Ben for helping Lucy and I enjoy our hikes again.

We had trouble introducing our dog to new people and barking at other dogs on walks. Once we started working with Ben, he gave us the tools to help us have people come over and have our dog warm up to new people. His training was so helpful and we could not thank him enough for how she is around new people and the drastic change she has made on walks. It’s been night and day and it has given her such a better quality of life. If you’re looking for any behavior training for your dog, Ben is the person to use, we can’t thank him enough!

I would highly recommend Outrider Dogs and the puppy-training course to new and experienced owners. This course is very interactive and provides valuable insights on your pet's behavior. I would also recommend the one-hour puppy playgroup. It creates a safe environment for your puppy to learn how to play with others. The puppy owners are able to stay and observe the truly awesome pet-handling skills of Ben and Lexi.

Ben's training and personable guidance saved our dogs. We were in a tough spot when our two lab mixes attacked each other, and were heartbroken by the thought we would have to give up one. We consulted multiple trainers. Ben was the only one with a no-bullsh!t answer. Clear directions tailored to our home and family dynamics. Almost imediately we regained control and calmness with our dogs. His training has proved the solution since its been 3 years and have been able to absolutely enjoy our dogs in a way we didn't thnk would be possible. We have even added to the pack recently and had him out to keep us and the 3 dogs dialed in to a great life together. Wish there were more stars to give in this review!
