Out of the Bark - Dog & Puppy Training

We are so happy we found Out of the Bark! We’ve worked with other trainers in the past who used pinch collars and negative reinforcement, and it just didn’t feel right — or work well. Dan and Megha take a totally different approach, using positive reinforcement and a ton of patience. The results have been amazing. Our dog Simba used to have a lot of anxiety, and now he’s confident and so much happier. Koda’s made great progress too! We’ve seen such a big change in both our dogs and our relationship with them. We had an amazing experience with Out Of The Bark. We adopted a one year old husky who we named Rambo. He was a handful and wouldn’t listen. He is very big and strong. I have back issues and was having a very hard time walking and bonding with Rambo. He would jump at me, nip, and pull. I had to rely on family members and friends to help me with Rambo. I was so sad I could not bond with my dog Time together was difficult. He was very mouthy, played too rough, and just would not listen. After working with Dan from Out Of The Bark, I learned that I was the one who was not listening. Dan taught me to understand my dog and his needs. Rambo‘s behaviors are based on his needs being met. Not only is Dan a behaviorist he is a dog whisperer as well. He never yelled or reprimanded Rambo. Through psychology and kindness he was able to get through to Rambo and myself, so we could be on the same page and understand each other. In the 12 weeks of training with Out Of The Bark, my wild wolf was transformed into a lovable fluff ball. He is asleep on my bed as I write this. I never thought I would bond with my boy as I have now. We can play and walk without him nipping, pulling, or jumping . He listens now! I will forever be grateful to Out Of The Bark. Dan made training such an enjoyable experience. Not only was Dan an incredible trainer, he is now part of our family. We highly recommend Out Of The Bark, and look forward to doing more with Dan and Megha in the future .

I researched two years about dogs, dog training, feeding, name it, I looked it up. But none of that could have prepared me for when our 8 week puppy actually came home! The best thing I did was finding Megha and Dan from Out of the Bark. During our consultation, they were both helpful in helping me understand how they work with puppies and asked about what goals were important to me. They laid out goals within private sessions such as commands and outside socialization as well as group classes to work on socializing with other dogs and skill building. From the first training session to now, Megha has been the puppy whisperer. She made sure to remember my goals and always helped us succeed with our puppy training. Each week, we learned something new and Megha helped us adjust in areas by tailoring creative and innovative solutions when we ran into a roadblock. The moment that holds special for me is when she incorporated our neurodiverse son into the training session. It has helped him bond with the puppy and he is always eager to help as a result. It's crazy to believe 6 months have already passed but we get so many compliments on how well behaved our puppy is and we can only attribute that success to Out of the Bark training. As the both said, they are not here to train the dogs, but the owners. I have learned so much about what goes into making our dog a good canine. We will continue to work with Megha on our journey as he grows. Invest in your dog like you would your human children, the outcome is worth it! Thank you, Megha and Dan!
