Otter Tail Kennels

We sent our yellow lab to Steve and Jody at Ottertail Kennels this past spring and could not be anymore happy with how he came back! Sending your pup away can be a very difficult decision and we did some pretty good research about Ottertail kennels and numerous other kennels but after reading reviews, studying their webpage and a meet and greet with them, we knew this was the right place for our pup. And they certainly confirmed that when we picked him up! Being able to get weekly updates and a picture or a video of him each week made it seem like we were right there with him on his training journey. We did the sportsman training package and being able to see how steady he is for duck hunting and his drive for pheasant hunting makes us very anxious to put him to work this fall. His obedience is fantastic and all three of our kids are able to work with him and he listens very well. Can't wait to be able to send Steve and Jody some pictures of him in the field this fall and we will be bringing him back this next spring for their advanced waterfowl program! We found Otter Tail Kennels when my wife and I started to realise that we needed some help with our large and domineering Choc. Lab Hudson. We signed him up for the Sportman Program in the summer of 2024 and could not be happier with the results. He had a bit of a rough start, but Jody and Steve were able to work through the issues. They provided videos and honest feedback each week. I initially had reservations dropping him off for 14 weeks, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. They are good people, they took great care of Hudson, and he came home a well mannered dog that really is a lot of fun to hunt with.

Steve and Jody from otter tail kennels did such an amazing job with my dog. I was a little nervous to send him away for so long but they took good care of him and sent a lot of videos and pictures of his progress along with the weekly updates that made the time away so much easier. It was so amazing to see the progress he made in such a short time. He even got a chance to go to a ukc event during his time there and I was so proud that at 8 months old he got 2 passes. That showed off how much he learned. I have told so many people who have asked me where he went to training about Steve and Jody at otter tail.

Our chocolate lab attended Otter Tail Kennels in the spring of 2024. I found Steve and Jody after my last trainer retired. I wish that I would have found them sooner. Everything was well planned and the training went great. We have a fairly tender dog who is a big softy. I was very glad that she came back to me with the same personality, except that she listens now. I would not hesitate for a second to send my next dog to them. Looking forward to my 38th duck season this fall!!
