Grant and Alex Huff have a combined 35 years experience training dogs to an advanced level for AKC hunt tests, duck hunting, and obedience. They both grew up in East Texas with a love for duck hunting and dogs, which eventually led them to a career working with dogs of all breeds. They love seeing dogs reach their full potential and bridging the knowledge gap between clients and their pets. One Shot Retrievers are literally the best. You can’t find anywhere else that gives you fantastic training for a good price. My Robin boy actually listens to me and it’s significantly reduced his anxiety. I was uninformed and allowed a vet to prescribe him anxiety medicine (the same kind humans take) and it’s not the solution. He doesn’t chase cats and cars anymore. And Alex+Grant are there for you even after you take your pup home! The photo is him sleeping with his new toy after a day of training with me and my husband ❤️

Alex and One shot retrievers did an incredible job with Leroy. I was ready to wash her out from another trainer. She spent the time and now we have a great gun dog.

We had our border collie obedience trained because he was jumping up on people and I was afraid he would hurt my grandchildren. We left him there for six weeks and picked him up just this week. He seems to be doing wonderfully, but I’m going to have to teach myself to reinforce all the commands he had learned at One Shot Retrievers. He’s a lot calmer and an all around better dog. I really appreciate everything they have done to help us be much happier home.

Best Experience for our dog and family. We have an Irish Wolfhound who is 4 years old. We started on 200 acres, and then bought a house in longview on a little less than 2 acres to be closer for our kids. We would still go out to the land and let our dogs run and roam. It was a great opportunity to allow the dogs stretch their legs. We recently relocated to a big city, and decided we needed help with “city “ training him. We dropped him off for a 6week training session, and off we went to find a place to live in the city. We have now been in the city for 3 weeks and he transitioned from country to city perfectly!! The first few days were an adjustment to noise,dogs, and people living soo close to us. But He has done soo well.
If we ever get another dog, We will definitely be bringing our dogs to be trained by Alex and her husband. They are the best and they truly understand dogs.
Best money spent, and would highly recommend them to everyone and anyone!!
