On Command K9 academy

My review may be different than others. I volunteered at a CT shelter and there was a dog who suffered unbelievable trauma, hence her trust was broken of all humans, except the shelter manager. Dynamics changed and Kailey was left alone, misunderstood with only a few dedicated volunteers who advocated for her. When euthanasia was “on the table” a volunteer who knew Mark years ago contacted him. He agreed to take Kailey (now SK )Special K). She had a long haul down to FL but was greeted by Mark, an incredible trainer who knew exactly what she needed. By Marks amazing talent to understand and know what each specific dog requires, SK has had no bites in over 2 years and is truly happy showing her real self. Thankfully Mark has agreed to keep her safe at his facility, if returned to “that CT shelter”, she surely would have, once again, been on an euthanasia list. Thank you for all you have done Mark. Your training has saved SK life. Truly grateful.

Mark left our family heartbroken and disappointed. He had our dog in his custody for training for close to 6 weeks only to return her to us with the same, and even worse behavioral issues, plus a urinary tract infection, and zero response to any commands. We had difficulty getting updates other from Mark other than very brief videos of our dog lying down at the end of a leash, and she was just as reactive towards dogs and people as she was when we first adopted her. Upon requesting we meet at a dog park so he could demonstrate what he had taught her while in his custody, he immediately resigned as our trainer instead. Others have reported similar issues with Mark and On Command K9 Academy on his Facebook and multiple Google website pages. I would not trust Mark at all ever again. Dog lovers beware, and good luck finding a great trainer. Mark isn't one of them, and we are having to rehome our beloved dog now. An incredibly sad experience.

We have nothing but amazing things to say about Mark! We adopted an 11 week old puppy who was VERY gregarious and we were having a difficult time managing her and our toddler. Emotions were high and it began to feel like we were not equipped to take care of this little girl, but mark stepped in and his board and train program did the trick! I am convinced we would not be a happy unit today without him. 10/10 recommend. Amazing experience.

What a great experience. My puppy is delightful and easier to control since Mark worked with her--and with me! He is very patient but also firm with his training . He is very knowledgeable and no nonsense,. He was quick to respond when we had questions during the training. It is difficult to release your new puppy to someone, but he is solid and knows how to teach with patience and with good explanations for what he is doing. Our puppy was and is quite active, but she became manageable and a joy after working with Mark. It is also a big plus that he comes to our home following the 3 week training and will do so as long as we think we need his advice and help.
