Olivia's Dog Training & More

Olivia’s dog training was a blessing we received at a critical juncture for our family as we struggled with welcoming a Cane Corso puppy into our lives. We already had two dogs: Chip, a Terrier mix, who ruled the household despite his diminutive size and Goldie, a Golden Retriever, that carried on long conversations with us in a melodious whine as she insisted on being lavished with loving rubs at every opportunity. Both dogs were a trying handful even as we decided to adopt Prince, the Cane Corso, because we needed his threatening presence for a greater sense of security whenever one of us traveled out of state. We quickly became overwhelmed because the Cane Corso grew into a massive dog who would threaten to bowl us over with his slobbering licks of affection, when rearing up to almost five feet to paw at our shoulders. The dogs were difficult to control, pulling us in different directions or lunging out to play or to chase after other animals. We have had dogs of all breeds from Shepherds, Lasco Apso, and Irish Setters to name a few but we could not handle the high energy of our furry family members; who either threatened to knock over the furniture or their human pals during their endless quest for attention. We settled on Olivia Dog Training to help us with in-home dog training after an exhaustive internet search and referrals. We needed urgent help at home where we also maintained a home office which was incompatible with rowdy dogs. Michele came after we contacted Olivia’s and rapidly amazed us with her knowledge of the character of the various dog breeds. She was truly magical as she quickly asserted control and taught us simple routines and commands that discouraged aggressive behavior while promoting obedience training for all the dogs, both on and off the leash. The best lesson we learned was that the dogs got signals and guidance to desirable behaviors based on cues the owners transmit. The in-home lessons enabled us to control the three dogs when we welcomed visitors to our home or when we took them for walks in the neighborhood. The big bonus for us is the highly competitive cost Olivia’s charge for dog sitting when we travel. Michelle has what we consider to be a dog resort where the dogs can romp and play in a huge, fenced and safe environment during play time before retreating into luxurious spacious rooms to dream the night away in comfort. Olivia’s may provide us with dog training and a wonderful resort for our dogs to stay over, but Michelle herself is a treasure trove of information about good habits which lead to happy pets and contented owners. Michele has many trained assistants to provide qualified support so she is able to travel to your home, if you require additional help with your pets. I consider her to be a dog whisperer.

I can’t recommend Olivia's Dog Training & More enough! Michelle and her team take incredible care of my two dogs, Sprout and Onyx, from training, to when they boarded for a week. I was so impressed by the communication—they sent updates multiple times every single day, which really put my mind at ease while traveling. They made sure the boys had tons of exercise and playtime to burn off energy, and stayed on top of their feeding and hydration schedule. If you need a trustworthy place for boarding or training, this is it!

Leaving Milo is never easy for me, but Michelle made the entire experience so comforting and stress-free. From the moment I left, she kept me updated with regular texts and sent pictures of Milo, which truly gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious he was loved and she treated him like her own. Knowing he was in such good hands made being away so much easier. I’m beyond grateful for the care, attention, and communication she provided. We will absolutely be booking with her again!
