Ohana K9 Academy - Dog Training, Boarding & Dog Daycare

I have 2 dogs (7 & 2 years old) that had some basic puppy obedience training and very little socialization. Walks were always difficult because of their pulling tendencies and general reactiveness to outside distractions. Additionally, my wife and I were expecting our first baby, and wanted to get some obedience training for them to encourage calm behaviors with a new member of the family coming. Ohana K9 Academy was a fantastic choice for those needs. The structure of the training, and the opportunity for pet owners to learn their pets’ strengths/weaknesses, and general training tools to practice at home was great for us. They also adjusted our plan to allow our dogs to be boarded when my wife had to be induced early. We can’t thank the owners and staff for allowing that. Andrew was a fantastic trainer for our two dogs. Through the daily training video updates, you could tell he has a lot of passion for his work and the wellbeing of our dogs. We saw our oldest dog grow confidence in group play with other dogs, and found out our younger pup isn’t the most playful or social (but is tolerant of other dogs in her space lol). We’ve been on 3 walks since their completion of the program and it’s a night-and-day difference with them on their leads. No more pulling, no more random lunges at a squirrel across the street, they both walk by our sides and are so responsive to commands. The trainers and staff are all so polite for pickups and drop offs. This team is the best!

Ohana is the place to go for dog training!! We did private lessons with Alex and then a board and train with Andrew for our gsd/husky Trixi. We had the BEST experience with our trainers and all Ohana staff. This was our first puppy and we had no idea how hard training would be, and we are so thankful we found Ohana to help us. Our dog learned so many tricks and skills; and our trainers always made sure we understood how to make sure we knew how to continue the training at home too. Trixi totally loved going to her lessons and she gets so excited to be there and that always made us happy and feel safe to leave her there for her boarding. Also, we would get pictures and videos on the days she was doing her board and training and we’d be looped in on how she was doing.

I had a friend refer me to Ohana K9 when I mentioned looking for a service to better cement the training I had done at home. I have not been disappointed with the service provided by Ohana K9! Our trainer, Louie, was transparent from the beginning with what training would look like, what we should be doing at home, and sending daily updates. With the separation anxiety my dog has, she tried to get out of the crates and scratched her nose. Louie sent a video right away with what had happened, the after care they provided, and upfront about the mystery scrapes she got in the crate - that kind of honesty and transparency spoke volumes to me. Louie really took the time to make sure my questions were answered and went into detail in explaining the how and the why behind what they’re doing. I now have more confidence than ever working with my dog at home and taking her out in public. Shes overall a much calmer dog and I know I can reach out to Louie at any time for help with anything related to training. Thank you Louie and especially the Kennel Tech team for taking great care of my dog during this process!

There isn't enough we can say about Ohana and our trainer Chuyee. The entire team took such good care of our boys during their board and train. Our puppy was on seizure meds and the communication and consistency was so helpful to keep our mind at ease. Training was phenomenal but seeing how our two pups enjoyed it and lit up at drop off every week made the entire experience a little sweeter every week. If you're on the fence, do it. You'll be so glad you did.
