Gavin really helped my husband and I get a better understanding of how to be leaders for our dog. She is large and dominating, so it was really important for us to not only work on her training but our training as dog owners. we have seen immense improvement after just 4 lessons, and plan to revisit with more lessons after some home practice. We highly recommend Gavin for anyone looking for balanced and sensible training techniques!

My wife and I highly recommend Gavin Ehringer with Ohana Canine Training. We found Gavin to be highly professional, kind, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable with decades of experience. Our Labrador is now 7 months and we had 5 in-home obedience sessions over 2 months. Gavin provided us very beneficial techniques that we used to work with our dog once each training session was completed. Gavin’s direction resulted in a well behaved young dog. We have worked with other dog trainers in the past, but believe that Gavin is in a league of his own.

I was looking for a trainer in the area that wasn’t against the use of actual training, like prong collars, etc. I’ve found that the majority of trainers out here have a weird approach to things. I found Gavin and he seemed like a great fit for my pack! In just our evaluation he helped me understand the mistakes I’ve been making in regards to training & taught me valuable rules and skills to help my dogs be the best they can be. My 5 month old puppy is already showing signs of improvement after one single evaluation. I look forward to our future sessions and learning as much as I can from Gavin. The dogs also, seemed to feel comfortable around him which is something I was worried about. I highly recommend Gavin and his services. He also, charges by the session... not by the dog which is helpful if you have more than 1. The tools he provides you help you with your whole pack!

I highly recommend Gavin. He is very knowledgable and works with a variety of issues. I learned more in one session with him than in several sessions with a different trainer. Gavin helped me with my two dogs (one an unruly puppy and another was reactive to dogs when on a leash). With the right tools and instruction from Gavin, my older dog was no longer reactive to other dogs when on a leash. It stopped within one session. For my puppy, Gavin taught me important things, like house rules and expectations. He does not take a "one size fits all approach". Instead, he carefully evaluates your dog before coming up with a plan. Gavin is fairly priced for his years of experience and expertise. It is all well worth the investment!
