Ohana Canine Training

We are back training with Gavin with our new puppy. Previously, he helped eliminate our old dog's leash reactivity. When we adopted this new puppy, there was no doubt we would ask Gavin to help us. He provides a structured approach to training that trains owners as much as dogs. Working with Gavin changes your relationship with your dog and helps your dog develop into an easy to love part of the family. Our family can't recommend Gavin highly enough.

Gavin really enjoys what he does and is good at what he does. Our dog no longer pulls on his leash and is now enjoyable to walk. He also no longer sleeps on our bed unless invited (that was a big deal because he was used to sleeping on our bed and would get back on after telling him 10 times at night to get off). Also Gavin is super knowledgeable on tools to help train your dog like bark collars which has been very helpful with our dog barking at doorbells and people coming up to the door. Gavin is overall just very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does; he has a good reason behind why he trains dogs the way he does with a perfect balance between positive and negative reinforcement. He taught us when walking our dog, to always be in between another dog and our dog, not greeting our dog at the door or when leave (which helps with our dogs separation anxiety), how to desensitize our dog to other dogs (our dog gets overly excited around other dogs and becomes overwhelming/somewhat aggressive in play with other dogs) by doing training outside dog parks and at parks. We just learned overall how to take our basic training we knew how to do, to a whole new level that taught us to think differently in how we train our dog. And helped us immensely feel empowered to train him on things we had given up on. Now enjoy taking our dog to more places and enjoy him so much more!
