I am ashamed that I used the 2 week board and train. Of course you can make a dog do what you want with an e-collar. Our trainer, Abby, was very professional and sent updates; however, I would have been more impressed if she would have been honest and told us that our dog would do better with training with a trainer along side us on a regular basis. That way we are both getting the training. We have done this in the past with our dog of the same breed and it was much more effective. We took the lazy way out and wasted a lot of money. I find it hard to believe that most dogs can actually be trained in two weeks without the owner’s participation. Save your money and spend the time with a trainer that actually trains you and your dog.

After almost witnessing our 1yr old pup get hit by a car when he ran out of the house, we were desperate for help. We found Off Leash K9 Training and we are SO glad we did. Getting in contact with them was super easy and that’s when we stumbled across Estivin’s videos. We were floored by the improvement of his trainee pups. We booked a 2 week board and train with the hope that our Monty would be half as trained as the dogs we saw in the video. We couldn’t have been more blown away. Estivin turned our stubborn, overstimulated pup into a respectful and obedient boy! It’s like night and day. We are training ourselves just as much as we are training him but with Estivin’s caring instructions and the time he spent with us after the 2 weeks, it’s actually enjoyable. Estivin taught us how to use the e-collar and now Monty is so responsive us and to the lowest settings on the collar. During the 2 weeks, Estivin sent us a picture/video each day recapping what Monty learned that day. It kept us at ease. Before the training, we were terrified that if Monty got out of the house we would never see him again. Now, we leave the door open and he waits for us to tell him to come and heel. We take him on walks off leash and he has so much fun. The best part of everything is that our pup has never been happier. A trained dog really is a happy dog. We would recommend Estivin to anyone looking to reform and better their pup. He is a trustworthy and fantastic trainer. They also offer a lifetime of refreshers for your dog, both over the phone and/or in person.

We utilized Off Leash K9 Training for two of our dogs. We were looking to create more structure and obedience, as we have three dogs and they are a bit wild. Our newest addition, has some past trauma from before we adopted him and he hadn't ever had much training. He also had some leash reactivity which we were becoming increasingly concerned about. Him and our other male were having some issues, and our most prominent goal with training was to create a home environment both male dogs can live in happily. With this in mind we elected to enroll him in a two-week board and train with Estivin. As a self-proclaimed obsessive dog mom I was very nervous about him being away, but it was truly such a great experience! Estivin sent daily photos, videos, and write ups of his progress. We looked forward to this daily and loved seeing how happy Captain was every day to be training to be such a good boy. In the meantime, our other male dog was attending advanced training sessions, so both boys would know all the same commands. When captain came home from training, the transition to daily ecollars was a bit tough but we have all fallen into a great routine. The night Captain came back me Estivin spent nearly 2 hours walking us through all of the details, structures, and commands we would need to help Cap be successful. I can honestly say Estivin has made it possible to keep all of our dogs in our home and the training has been life changing. Thank you Estivin for giving our boys the training they needed to be certified good boys for life!

Sorry in advance for the long review but wanted to detail our journey with my boxer Jax & Estivin. I know it is alot to read and alot financially but is a life long investment for a happy joyful life for you & your pup. Where do I begin. This is our 3rd boxer puppy & we love the breed & their goofiness. People say how hyper & stubborn they are & with our last 2 we didn't REALLY understand what they were talking about. Yes they were hyper & stubborn but listened & were controllable. They both passed & our house was too quiet so decided to get a puppy. Fast forward to last month. We now have a 75lb 8-Month old boxer puppy Jax. He is stubborn, hates the word no, hyper aroused & crazy. Legit crazy. Will jump up to peoples faces if he wants to, jumps all over us, cant load/unload the dishwasher without telling him to go lay down & stop licking everything, cant pet him without being mouthy, grabs things just to get yelled at, jumps on the bed to grab you as you walk by & never could cuddle with him let alone sit on the floor & play with him. He really never stops. Outside forget trying to get him in or get him to come to you & walks were dreadful every night with pulling & not listening. I would think why did I get myself into this. Finally my husband had enough & said Jax needs to go he is too wild. My husband is healing with a rod in his leg & needs a knee replacement soon. We were worried this out of control dog would hurt his leg again. Jax knew the basics & I knew how to train him sit, down, cage, stay but getting him to actually do it when we needed him to was a different story. We tried e-collars but I'm sure we weren't using them correctly so I told my husband let me look into training. I actually jumped the gun & scheduled an in-home private lesson with another company that comes to your home for a few hours gives you a bunch of homework for you to do to train your dog & they go on their way for you to call if needed. I thought to myself how can you know what my dog needs in a few hours. Anyway I was desperate & put down a $300 deposit with the other company but after more research & talking to Dan later that night with Off Leash Training I realized the 2 week training is what Jax and I both needed. They offer refresher courses & will be a life long investment to him. I lost my deposit with the other company & scheduled the 2 week board & train with Dan who said my trainer would be Estivin. Best decision ever. Can I just say BEST TRAINER EVER!!! From the beginning he reassured me, went over everything with me, asked what I wanted out of training, made adjustments for things – Jax heels on the right because of my husband leg. I got daily updates sometimes multiple times a day & he let me know why he was doing what he was doing with commands so I can go back and read & play videos for refreshers when he comes home. He has been in constant contact since Jax has been home to make sure everything is going smoothly. Not only do I love walking him now- I now do it twice morning and night. No longer does Jax jump on us. I say sit and he actually does it & stays if I want him to. I put him in place & can vacuum/mop without him trying to kill it or leave marks from his paws because he wont stay off the wet floor. We have removed the fences from other parts of the house since he doesn’t go wandering in places he’s not supposed to go. He knows he is no longer allowed on the bed so there is no creeping around the bed to get ready on the morning in hopes he doesn’t grab your shirt or sweater & rip it. I have actually been 15 minutes early to work since there is no fighting with him in the mornings. I have cuddled with him everynight without being jumped and walked all over. We took him to a field & were able to throw the ball & were confident he wouldn’t run off. We haven’t had a chance to take him on an outing yet but so excited to do it knowing he will be a well behaved dog. Our lives are totally changed & have the resources and confidence to make sure Jax can be the best version of himself.
