From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful for our time at OLK9 and especially for the work our trainer, Alex, put into bonding with Della. I know without a doubt that Alex changed our lives. Della started developing some fear reactivity that developed into some pretty serious aggression. We tried multiple trainers with no luck. I came across a video on Facebook for an aggression case and was blown away by the changes I saw. The dog's name was Apollo. I saw how he lunged and barked at the trainer. That's exactly what Della did. For the first time in a long time, I had hope. I have watched that video so many times and have even made a connection with Apollo's owners. Because of that video and the changes I saw, we contacted OLK9 and set up classes. Initially we were going to do the 8 week plan, but Della quickly bonded with the trainer, Alex McKinney, and we knew that the board & train was going to be the best option for Della. Due to COVID-19, we decided to postpone our b&t until the quarantine was lifted, to give Della the best opportunities for growth. The day of our b&t pickup, two other trainers, in addition to Alex, came over to the house. Della was very anxious since she didn't recognize these people. Alex worked with her at the house and Della quickly recognized her and knew that she was safe. I am SO grateful that Alex worked with Della to build a relationship with and without her muzzle. To me, that showed Della that she really could trust Alex and I wholeheartedly believe that if it wasn't for Alex building that trust and forming a relationship with Della, she would still have some of her trust issues. I am now confident enough with Della and her behavior that my husband and I can have people over, and we have. We didn't have anyone over for close to 2 years. If you're even remotely considering taking your dog to OLK9, PLEASE do. I know that Della has a better quality of life, and we are able to enjoy time with our dog. Our b&t video still brings tears to my eyes because I know that Alex not only did her job and trained my dog, but she loves her and she enriched her life. Seriously, take your dog to OLK9.
