We have a wonderful but very spunky and energetic 6 month old standard poodle named Chase. Derek at Off Leash Denver was recommended to us by a friend. We intended on taking the 4 classes but after meeting with Stevi and talking with Derek we decided the two week board and train would meet our needs best. I’m honestly finding it hard to express in words how pleased we are and how this whole experience has far exceeded our hopes and expectations! Stevi started it off with a great introduction to the facility and the program. Derek was Chase’s main trainer and he did an incredible job with our precious pup! He not only trained him far beyond anything we thought possible in a two week period but he loved and cared for him on a level I never expected from a professional trainer! Chase is still our wonderful spunky (Derek’s word for him! 😂) boy…but he is now confident, mature and obedient! Their training method makes sense in every way as the best method for the dog as well as the owners.

Our puppy is amazing at recall and listening to all of our commands, even when there are distractions around. We cannot say enough good things about Gustavo! Our female German Shepherd, Lila, has an extremely high drive, which had been challenging to manage. Before training, we were experiencing issues with her channeling that energy into reactivity & aggression towards dogs & on a few occasions people; After the 15 day board and train program with Gustavo, we are thrilled and relieved with the progress she has made and excited to continue working with her at home.
Gustavo was amazing from start to finish. During our drop off & pickup, he was incredibly thorough in explaining the training process, the reasoning behind each technique, and how to continue reinforcing her training at home. His detailed explanations gave us confidence and clarity on how to support her ongoing development.
She is one of three large dogs in our household, and the training is already helping us manage our home in a more effective and improved way. Since bringing her home, we’ve noticed a significant difference in her behavior - we couldn’t be more pleased. Knowing we can attend additional refresher sessions with Gustavo gives us even more peace of mind.
