Off Leash K9 Training, Chattanooga

Our dog is a shelter dog and was quite likely abused. He is a wonderful family dog and loves the people he loves. However, he is big and has a deep bark, so non-dog lovers were understandably nervous around him, which he sensed. He was also leash aggressive. He loves playing with other dogs, but when he was on the leash, he would bark incessantly and strain to get to the other dogs. Walking him was becoming increasingly difficult, as I had to keep finding times when other dogs weren’t around. I finally gave up and just kept walking him up and down the same stretch of road. Again, he was wonderful with our family and dog people, but most people didn’t get to see how loving he is. We had been to classes and to a private trainer, but we weren’t getting results. I found OffLeash Kanine Training by accident. I thought I was calling another trainer. Best accident of my life!! We started classes with Jordan Taylor, and our dog “graduated” yesterday! The change is incredible. I cannot recommend this program highly enough and particularly Jordan Taylor, the trainer. We met with Jordan once a week for eight weeks. Each week Jordan concentrated on a new command—always gently but firmly. Jordan never raises his voice; he gets results through consistency and praise. He trained us at the same time, so we were consistent in our approach. Our dog, a six year old, very stubborn lab mix, is a changed dog! OffLeash training does use an e-collar, but the collar doesn’t hurt the dog; it simply distracts him enough so that he can be diverted from possible problems. After eight lessons, I have the collar on our dog, but I rarely need to use it. This morning another dog came charging at us on our walk, and our dog responded to simple voice commands. Jordan never raises his voice, and I don’t have to, either. Our friends and neighbors can’t believe he’s the same dog, and strangers have commented on how well behaved he is. Our quality of life has improved dramatically We take long walks, and I am no longer nervous about what situations we might face because I know our dog will respond to the simple commands he’s learned. Usually just saying his name is enough. At our last lesson, an energetic big dog was brought in to try and distract our dog, and our boy behaved perfectly! We are thrilled! OffLeash deals with all kinds of behavioral problems. Ours was specifically leash aggression. We will continue working with him with absolute confidence. This program is wonderful!!! There are only five stars available, and I would easily give at least twenty to Jordan and the program! Judy M.

Jordan and his wife were great with updates throughout the week of board&train including pictures. They really listened to what specific things we were wanting our Stella to learn and encouraged us to ask questions; even to reach out in the future if we have any additional questions, needs, etc. They went over specifically what they covered with Stella and what her strengths/weaknesses were so we can continue with her education. We highly recommend them and Off Leash K9 training, we will be going through them again in the future for further training.

Jordan did an amazing job with my five month old great Dane puppy he understood Danes and was very kind but firm and patient. I appreciated all the pictures and the videos, and he was always available to answer any of my questions, and was very responsive. When he dropped Remington off after his two week class, I could see that Remington had a great connection with him so I know he was well cared for. Thank you, Jordan.!

Hailey at the Chattanooga location was such a joy to work with. Her knowledge, patience, skills and compassion for dogs made what could have been a very stressful time for Star very relaxed and enjoyable. Before training I couldn't rely on Star to behave on walks or around people she didn't know due to her anxiety when on a leash. Today we took her to Lowes and she greeted complete strangers and was perfectly calm doing so. Our knowledge and practice of tips and techniques that Hailey worked with us on have taken this former stray living in the woods to a presentable princess! Thank you so much Hailey and Off Leash!
