Off Leash K9 Training, Birmingham

We had been self leaning/teaching at home and not seeing much improvement. So I did some research and came across Off Leash K9 Training in Pelham. Let me say I am happy we found them. We just finished their Basic & Advanced Obedience classes with trainer Justin. And I can’t say enough great things about this guy. He went above and beyond to ensure I understood the reasonings to the commands and when to correct to get the best out of Mavis. I can’t be more thrilled with how Mavis behaves from where she was prior.

My little dog, Scittle first arrived at Off Leash K9 weighing 4 pounds and 9 ounces. But she was already 8 months old. Ashton was her trainer, and mine. He taught us by showing me exactly what to do and how to do it! I had concerns about the e-collar. But Ashton found the perfect size and tools that worked beautifully. I did keep Scittle in training after we finished Basic because there were specific tasks that I needed from Scittle. Again he taught her flawlessly! She graduated being certified in Advanced Obedience as well! Off Leash K9 is SECOND TO NONE!!!

We had such a great experience working with Sean! Before training, Earl would pull on the leash, struggled with extended sit/down, and was pretty reactive and anxious around other dogs. Sean really showed us how clear commands can create a sense of calm for a puppy. Earl is definitely a dramatic little guy, but he adjusted to the e-collar much faster than we expected. After just two sessions, he was already heeling, coming when called, and going “place.” By the fourth session, his extended sit is nearly perfect, and he can calmly lay down and wait without stress. On top of that he makes eye contact with us whenever walking past other dogs. What we really appreciated is that Sean helped us find the perfect balance—Earl listens so much better now, but he still gets to be a happy, playful puppy. Training sessions were also genuinely fun, especially getting to see Earl bond with Sean and Simba. We’re so grateful for the progress Earl has made and would absolutely recommend Sean to anyone looking for thoughtful, effective training! 🐾

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Justin with OLK9 absolutely exceeded our expectations with KODI’s two-week Board & Train. The transformation has been incredible — his Heel is solid, recall is immediate, and Sit/Stay is reliable even at distance and around distractions. Within hours of getting him home, we took him on a 4-mile walk and swim, and the difference was night and day. I now have complete confidence in him, which has made our daily walks so much more enjoyable. Even simple things — like putting him in a Sit while I handle cleanup — are now stress-free. That level of control and reliability has been a game changer. Justin also provided daily updates with photos and videos, which meant a lot while we were away from KODI. His facility is clean, organized, and very professional. This was 100% worth it. If you’re considering training, I highly recommend Justin and OLK9 — you won’t find better. 🙌
