Off Leash K9 Training, Birmingham

I enrolled my 1.5 year old Golden Retriever Lennon in the 2 week board and train with Justin back in September/October. I wanted to wait a month or two to give a review just so I could give myself time to acclimate to Lennon's new commands and give her time to adjust to me -- I honestly didn't need all of the time! Before I sent Lennon to training, she was the *worst* at leash walking, was a bit of a darter/didn't come when called, and loved people so much that she would jump all over then. She came home day 1 and was a fantastic heel walker off-leash, completely staying by my side. She understood that calming down was a good thing and no longer jumps up on people. She's very responsive to commands and, while she's incredibly obedient, still has her amazingly fun personality! I've even lost my leash because I rarely ever use it, she stays with me off leash. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up - Justin was awesome. He posted incredible pictures everyday during the two weeks she was away, keeping me up to date with her training, what she was struggling with, what she was excelling at. When it came time to pick Lennon up, Justin took the time to make sure I understood the commands, how to lead Lennon well, and answered every single question I had. It's of course a bit of a financial investment, but I'm absolutely confident it was worth the money -- we now have lifetime support from an awesome trainer for my awesome dog!

My rescue doggo, Snider, was very reactive to other dogs while on leash which made it difficult to take him on walks or anywhere outside of my house. He would also react strongly to any dogs that walked by our patio. I found Off Leash K9 and signed up for the 8 week anxiety and aggression lessons. Justin was amazing! He was informative and fun to work with while training Snider. He taught me how to look for Snider's tells when he's stressed and how to redirect his attention to avoid his reactive tendencies. With Justin's help, Snider and I have gained confidence and are able to walk past dogs with out anxiety! Training is a constant process and Justin gave us the tools be able to enjoy the outdoors again. Highly recommend!!!

Josey is a very smart AussieDoodle that everyone would get frustrated with because I spoiled her as a puppy and taught her bad things that were not so cute when she got bigger. Justin was the awesome trainer that I was assigned and he trained us both to do things the right way. He taught her manners and obedience and skills that would allow me to take here wherever I go. Justin was not only great with Josey and made her feel comfortable but he was patient with me and very accommodating if I needed to make a class change. Josey and I are very thankful for all we learned. She can now truly be a companion and not just a dog. It was well worth the time and money.

I’d like to give the biggest shout out to August. They have gone above and beyond with our dog Kota during her lessons to shape her into a well mannered dog who listens. August is patient and kind and trains us just as much as they do Kota. August has changed our lives at home and in public and we went from being at our wits end to actually enjoying our baby girl. Worth every penny and we recommend august and Off leash to everyone that asks.
