Off Leash K9 Training

We worked with Off Leash K9 for our Cane Corso, Harley Quinn, and I cannot express my gratitude enough. To be fair, Harley didn’t need the training- I did. I did ALL of the research before adopting a cane corso, but no research could prepare me for Harley. And to make matters worse, the neighborhood Karen reported us for ownership of a dangerous dog simply because Harley barked at her. Several months later, we are still fighting in court. Because we were unable to control Harleys “fear” and energy, her vet prescribed her trazodone. But something about feeding a puppy medication like that just didn’t set right with me. But Harley’s trainer, Gustavo, not only “trained” Harley, he gave me back my confidence and reassured me that Harley was in fact not dangerous. She just had incompetent owners. I dropped off a bored, scared, high energy, stubborn puppy and picked up a well behaved, confident, and intelligent puppy. Gustavo worked with Harley first during basic obedience. She did so well, we honestly thought we were good to go. But unfortunately I as her owner failed her and didn’t keep up with the training enough to make it really stick. She is my baby, so when she acted like she didn’t want to train, I didn’t enforce it. If I told her to sit and she laid down instead, I didn’t bother with it. These were all of my own errors. After about 2 months of failing on my own, and of course a court case, I enrolled Harley in their board and train program. Because Harley already knew the commands, Gustavo was able to push her immediately. He sent me updates on how she was doing, sent pictures and videos, excellent communication. He took her everywhere! Scheels, Home Depot, Downtown, the park! I could tell she worked hard because when she came home she slept HARD! When we picked Harley up, Gustavo worked with my husband and I to ensure that when we take her home we know what we are doing. I let her rest for the first day home, but after that we picked right back up. So far we have been all over the place. Harley is completely unbothered by other dogs and people. She understands, she wants to work. We have even started socializing more and letting her meet new people. Harley will probably never “love” other people, but I at least know that I can take her out in public safely. Today we were able to have a conversation with our other neighbor (whom Harley used to loathe entirely) as she laid in between us outside. The neighbors dog (who is a menace himself) was about 20 feet away, barking at Harley and being obnoxious- Harley again, was COMPLETELY UNBOTHERED! It was amazing. This is exactly what we needed. Harley will now be able to live the life she deserves, and we as her owners now understand the importance of proper dog training with someone who knows what they are doing. We will always recommend Off Leash K9.

I recently enrolled by 4 year old Blue Heeler in the basic obedience courses. I was having issues with her barking, pulling on the leash on walks, and chasing people and other dogs through the fence when they walked by. I could not be happier with the results from this program. With the program only lasting four weeks I did not expect for the results to be so outstanding, however my blue heeler has never been more well behaved. Gustavo is an AMAZING trainer and I am so grateful for all of the skills he taught me to help me teach my dog what I expected of her. He helped me to understand why my dog was behaving certain ways and gave me the confidence to correct her behavior as needed with 5 simple commands. If you are considering enrolling in this program do not hesitate any more! You will not regret it!

Great service, Lila and James were so knowledgeable, patient, and diligent. They clearly love and care about the dogs and want to see them grow. Our dog Yogi is high energy and has a tendency to get nervous and excited around other dogs, and in just the 4 week, 4 class program we have seen tons of improvement in how he’s able to walk on a leash without pulling, and be able to let dogs walk by without going bonkers. Lila was so kind and sweet at every appointment and they always made sure to go over everything with us so that we knew how to properly do our homework at home. Our dog learned a lot but so did we as owners! Thank you Lila and James you guys are awesome We highly recommend this program.

We decided to do training with our 4 year old rescue because walking/controlling him was getting difficult while also trying to keep up with our little one. We did four sessions over four weeks with a few of the trainers and Bullet has improved massively! He responds 90% of the time to commands the first time we ask (after only four weeks). His heel is excellent and improves more and more every day and even his regular loose leash walks are getting so much better! We are so happy we decided to do it and the trainers were so patient and accommodating, I had to bring my 10 month old to each lesson and they thought it was great! Highly recommend!

Bottom line, Off Leash K9 Training is by far the very best investment I've made in obedience training for my dogs! I went through the 4 week Basic Obedience Training course with my dog Bailey (Yellow Lab) back in 2017. Gustavo was our instructor and he did an OUTSTANDING job training me and Bailey. I was amazed at how fast my dog responded to the training. I have tried multiple obedience schools, each with their own philosophy on how best to train dogs. However, I found the Off Leash K9 training approach to be very humane, easy to follow, and has lasting results! I was so impressed I referred multiple friends to Off Leash K9 Training, and all of them became clients and had the same great experience. It's now September 2021 and I just completed the same course with my Rottweiler, Kalani. I had such a great experience with Gustavo with my first dog, that I requested him as the instructor. Just like before he did an INCREDIBLE job. However, I was blessed to also have Moriah fill in for Gustavo for two of the four weeks. Moriah did such an INCREDIBLE job, that I'm now taking my Havanese, Kobe through the Basic Obedience Training with Moriah as the instructor. We just completed the first week and again I'm amazed at how well Kobe is responding to the training! I was a little apprehensive about putting such a small dog through this type of training, but in the end it was my ignorance that was overcome by Moriah's commons sense and humane training approach. BTW, I haven't met the other instructors, but if they're anything like Gustavo and Moriah, I'm sure they're also excellent instructors. Finally, please realize that in order to get the best results, you the owner must be willing and committed to put in the time and follow the curriculum put in place by Off Leash K9 Training!
